One thing I’ve noticed recently is that teams aren’t falling for Mason’s trick of cutting back on to his left foot and shooting. The blocker seems to be in the right position to nullify it. We will need to help him develop a new trick or piece of skill when he gets in those positions. That was evident last night, but the boy then went to his right to give the defender something to think about. "Only" won a corner, but he certainly isn't a one-trick pony. When he plays in the middle he will make life a lot harder for the defence.

Probably needs a bit more muscle for that though, he’s still only a kid.

He just needs to slam one into the top corner with his right foot. Only has to do it once; put the doubt into defenders' minds. Or we hire Robben to teach Mason his Jedi mind trickery. He is our most natural finisher & should be playing as a 9. That's a different issue.

What’s frustrating about yesterday’s result is that you can see there is potential in the squad. If RW and CB were addressed last summer then we might have a real chance at the title this year.

He doesn’t have those tricks that rashford or more so a martial has in abundance

Where is the coaching at this club? that CB pairing keep making the same mistakes week in week out.
We are still very bad a set pieces whether its defending or attacking, again where's the coaching?
We are a counter attacking club and do that pretty well but there needs to be much more to our game plan.

I dont think its a valid criticism anymore ,especially after the arrival of Bruno we have shown we are able to create chances and score. How many times has this team came from behind to win matches , a purely counter attacking setup wont be able to do it as often as we do

No argument in that , Our 2 CBs and a Matic clearly over the hill have contributed to really shitty defence. Fix that and this team will look much better instantly.
