Whilst we really need a trophy, and always need to beat these fuckers, we also have Leicester 3 days after this, and Wolves 3 days after that, then a potentially tricky game against Villa who are going well this season another 3 days later.
Fernandes and Rashford in particular need to sit this one out, the league is more important than the League Cup, it just is.

It goes against my natural inclinations but given the helter skelter nature of the league and the threadbare squad, we need to prioritize. Start the fringe players and hope they get/stay hungry and play themselves into some sort of form. |
