From what I’ve seen he’s no better than Jones or rojo(we can also throw in Jonny evans and Micheal Keane) mid table defender and how he was valued at 90 million is beyond me. Jonny Evans is ten times the defender, and footballer, Maguire is. I’ve enjoyed seeing you defend Evans over the years, it’s one of the best ongoing things on this board, but I’m with you on that. I didn’t think Evans was good enough for United (and still don’t), was fine with us getting rid of him. However, I didn’t anticipate us replacing him with a boat load of expensive flops. He’s definitely better than Maguire. The thing that gets me about Maguire as well is the lack of bravery. He’s not a brave defender. You can cover a lot of deficiencies in a CB if they’re willing to put their body on the line. It’s not really a skill as such, you couldn’t measure it on a players FIFA stats, but it’s a huge attribute that can prevent goals. People have said about John Terry (including yourself recently Bestie) that they didn’t really rate him that highly, was slow on the turn etc. But nobody could question his bravery on the pitch. Maguire has the look of a brave CB (big lad, English darling, massive head etc) but he isn’t one. Watching Bailly fling his body at that shot at the end just served to highlight that further.

So dean smith thinks pogba tripped himself, really is bizarre what other people choose to see, the villa lad clearly catches him with his calf, it was very slight tangle and he didn't really make a challenge but he still tripped him, its a foul and a pen 🤷♂️ Smith needs an eye test, he’s just making a cunt of himself choosing not to see what happened, the anti United stuff in on the rise I fucking love it. this shows we are starting to become relevant again so it must be a good sign

Bruno and Grealish in the same side is potentially sensational. Absolute nightmare for defenders. We should really be looking at him in the summer, we won't mind you because he will cost a fortune, the amount of chances he creates too, if and when we sell pogba he would be the player I would bring in with that money Considering Sanchos poor form this year id rather spend this stupid money on Grealish.

The guy hit that shot like a rocket. Dave was in a good position but I don’t think he’s saving that. Phenomenal piece of defending. He's side footing that, his foot has caught the ball plumb in the sweet spot and the ball is in the air, not on the ground. All the while de gea has his arms low. To me that ball is going mid to top right and there's no way de gea is getting to it at such close range. No keeper would. If that was Lindelof it would be goal.

I was also a grealish sceptic but this season ive watched him quite a bit and he is a class player, one of those you just can't get the Ball off, I think he'd improve us a great deal further

If you look at the Wolves game we fluked during the week. Grealish is the kind of player you need in those circumstances, who can beat players in tight areas and deliver quality into the box. Id still put preference on signing a striker or centre halve but this guys not gonna be at Villa next season and probably playing at City or Liverpool or abroad prefably. The price is going to be huge, 65m seems like a bargain before signing that 5 year deal

Still think Grealish is shit, too. If he stayed on his feet every once in a while, he may convince you otherwise.

I also rated Evans ,he had his best games alongside Vidic and more than played his part in our title winning years.

You have actually nailed it. Maguire is what John Terry would have been without the hero complex. (You're wrong about Evans though. )
