We should have attacked them from the start high tempo full on attack, sitting back as in the first 30 mins or so was baffling and the wrong tactic.

No. Reason being we should have won not because we were so good, but because of how obviously weakened Liverpool were. Yet we failed to exploit it, failed to even try really. I’m glad it’s not just me,beginning to think i am watching different football to everyone else. Yesterday was two crucial points dropped, that will end up costing us. I don’t disagree with any of this, but stand by my comment. We’re moving in the right direction. Slowly, perhaps, but definitely improving.

Think I'm close to the end of my patience with Martial. So in and out. Think he's getting to the point of being a squad player at best. He shouldn't be in the starting lineup right now but with Greenwood waiting to pounce and Diallo's arrival it's not going to get any easier for him to rightly establish himself in the team.

Bruno badly needs someone else stepping up and carrying some of the load. Pogba has to an extent but you really need a forward player to be the one, who can directly impact results through goals. It needs to happen bloody quickly. Our next 2 league games are a very good opportunity for someone to grasp it surely?

I’ve defended him on here On numerous occasions but not any more. This is the moment a truly great player steps up and makes his mark. This is the season. You can have all the ability in the world, which he has, but it means nothing if it’s not used consistently.

Roy Keane has changed his tune recently,we all know why but he was right when he said some of these players will ultimately cost OGS his job,Martial is one of those players.

I've been done with Martial for more than a year now. In fact, when the whole Jose saga with Martial started, I remember not really being arsed if Martial was sold. Now I don't think there would be many takers for him either. I remember the comparisons to Henry when Martial first joined. He doesn't have even 1% of the fire or hunger to push himself. He can absolutely fuck off and it would be long overdue.

time for Donny and Greenwood to make their mark on this season. Bruno and Rashford need resting this week.
cant argue with a draw but dissapointed not to win the game in the end. 2 huge chances on other days we score and 1-0 victory would have looked like great match management. we were unlucky in the end.

If only we had someone who could do that

If the plan was to ease Donny into the season, then he would have played alot more minutes by now. When you get to the halfway stage, you have to start using your squad and I fear Donny just doesn't have the minutes to hit the ground running. Bruno was gassed after an hour last night, that was the perfect opportunity to put Donny on in his place for 30 minutes in what many consider his best position. Why not put both Cavani and Donny on at the same time and give Liverpool something to think about. If there was ever proof that Ole is a cautious manager, his substitutions last night proved it. Klopp didn't really have any options on the bench, so a well placed tactical change up front would have made a difference.

Exactly a year ago we lost there 2:0 and found ourselves 30 points behind. This time we drew and are 3 points clear. True, they’re not nearly as good (or hungry?) as they were, this is a COVID season and they have a few injuries to boot, but that is progress. Not only the points total too. We actually created the better chances, and in the later stages of the game too. We went for the win, even if we soaked their pressure in the early stages.

I'm not firmly in the "Ole Out" camp but games like this really highlight his limitations for me. Anyone could see that Liverpool were there to be got at yesterday and we barely laid a glove on them. I was fuming as soon as I saw the line up because I knew exactly how the game would go. The positive effect a win would have had for us, and the negative effect of them losing their home record would have been huge and it infuriates me that Ole didn't even try.
Just out of curiosity, is there anybody on this thread that wouldn't have dropped Martial, played Rashford on the left and Cavani up front against a CB pairing of Fabinho and Jordan Fucking Henderson ?

Martial has the talent to be one of the top 5 players in the world, but it counts for nothing.

Very happy some players are sharing their disappointment, clearly they also knew Liverpool were there to be beat. Players simply didn’t turn up ontime to the party. I hope they learn their lesson and show up from the moment the whistle blows on Wednesday.

Thing is you can't lay blame to him for that. Those players should have won that yesterday. My only criticism with Ole for the game was that he didn't start Cavani instead of Martial. I was critical about him starting Lindelof but then he had a good game. Other than that he didn't really do much wrong. We just didn't take our chances, just like the city and Chelsea games. All there to be won. Gets to a point where you have to look beyond the manager and focus on the players.
