In theory this should be the perfect opportunity to improve our goal difference and take that momentum forward into the next set of more awkward games.
In reality, this is MUFC 2020-21, so it's odds on they will score first and we'll huff and puff just to get something from the game having had enough chances to have been over the horizon and out of sight by HT!
I'll be very happy to be proved wrong though!

They've only conceded 7 goals more than United this season, so they're not getting many hammerings.
I'll go 3-0.
Big daft Maguire gets one against his former club, Pogba keeps his scoring form up, and Greenwood gets himself back into form with 2 in 2 games.

This would be the ideal sort of game to play vdB and Matic as a two.

We certainly need to be ruthless in front of goal from here on in,Citys ability to 4,5 6 etc into teams is possibly going to be a potential problem.

We should have hit these guys for 6 at their place, but missed a bucket load of chances and had to hang on at the end. We simply do not have the energy reserves for a repeat tonight. We play Arsenal and then Southampton inside a week. It’s vital we get a good 3 goal lead and then see the game out. If we allow them to stay in the game it’s our own fault.

We never quite seem to have that in us to just kill teams like they do. Leeds was a recent example of that, each time you thought ,right now really put it to the fuckers,we let them have a sniff of a chance.

But far more important is a game without drama and an easy victory. We’re putting a huge amount into every game whereas City seem to have a stroll every second one. That’s going to take a serious toll eventually.

Our early season home form means we have not given ourselves any room for error,as the intensity starts to ramp up,like you said it's huge week ahead,we are as likely to beat both Arsenal & Soton as lose to them. Anything less than 9 points from these three games will make it very tough to finish above City. I'd start DVB tonight,he needs a run of games,he won't start the next two.

City are the favourites for me, the players should be fully focused and pumped up for every game because they have to keep pace if they want to be in the mix come Easter. I think Rashford's knee injury shows the wear on this squad. I think we have enough to beat Sheffield but they gave us a decent game over xmas, so you can only expect the same again.

Need to use games like this to boost our goal difference. We're in good form at the moment, need to start turning that into goals now, more importantly stop conceding daft goals aswell.
Clean sheet and a few goals would be nice. Id start Rashford on the bench and nmuse him only if needed. We'll need for him for the Arsenal game much more than this one.

Awb Maguire Bailly/Axel Telles
McTominay Bruno Pogba
Martial Cavani Greenwood

I'll be surprised if diallo gets a run before the season is out....if hes been doing so well in training then it can't be any worse than playing dan James so just chuck him in there, see what he can do. Just desperate for someone else to have the bruno effect....
