Because he doesn't offer "balance". As in can’t play cm and be disciplined? As in isn't McTominay or Fred.

I don't know the reserves as well as some here but I think Hannibal might be a bit too small/slight still to come in properly. In a year, if Pogba runs down his contract (and I don't see anyone in for him this summer TBF), it might make more sense.

You know it’s so funny just listening to Gary talk about ronaldo and he said the transformation was in one summer! These lightweights need to get a personal trainer and add some muscle.

Just to add fully appreciate everyone’s body is different but adding muscle without restricting movement, speed and skill is very much doable in quick time nowadays

Whilst I don't hold Hannibal's size against him, Greenwood during the first lockdown is an amazing example of how quickly someone can bulk up as well. He came out like a different human.

Apparently international comps don’t prevent the biggest clubs from concluding transfer business 🤷♂️

Think Ronaldo had already played two or three full seasons of first team football for us by that stage. It’s also a dangerous comparison really, using one of the greatest players ever as an example. Ronaldo had unbelievable athleticism to start with. It’s a thin line too, as you’ve said in your other post. Depay bulked up far too much at United and looked awful for it. He looks more mobile at the moment for the Dutch. Lukaku too, he ended up looking all NFL during his second season, never seen a more cumbersome player. I don’t think everyone needs to add that size necessarily. Zidane was always tall and slender but could compete with anyone physically. Although I’m aware I’ve broken my own rule there by using one of the all time great players as an example.

Strength training and core training are not all about weights. Cristiano also isn't jacked. He's shred. His exercises are about core strength and body strength overall, not bulking up.

Raphael Varane and his representatives will reportedly look to begin negotiations with Manchester United this week as the defender looks to seal a move to Old Trafford.
The defender rejected Real Madrid's offer of a two-year extension to his contract, which has 12 months remaining, and is set on leaving the LaLiga club after 10 years in Spain.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are one of the main teams interested in signing the 28-year-old this summer and The Mirror report that Varane's agents are hoping to meet with United this week.
