Unfortunately Ole is going to have to try things because what we have at present inc Scott is not good enough for week in week out. None of them like to sit like matic does and I genuinely think that’s what you need with the quality of attackers we have If the manager had a good system in place he wouldn't need two DMs. He'd use a combination of pressing without the ball and quick passing to work through the opposition. We are the best counter attacking team in the country now. Having 2 DMs for a counter attacking team is stupid. One of the reasons we are never going to to see the best or a lot of DVB,the manager does not trust his coaching & tactical ability. |

4-3-3 seems like the obvious solution. Donny is an Ajax lad so 4-3-3 is in his DNA and Pogba is a lot more effective in a 4-3-3. Bruno would probably be a bit less effective but we need to move away from being a one man team because whenever Bruno doesn't show up we seem to struggle and we now have a lot of other potential matchwinners. Sucks we do not have a specialist CDM but Scotty will have to do a job for us. There are some reports we have made a DM our main priority next summer drawing up a shortlist which includes Neves, Rice and Bissouma. Of course a year too late and this season will probably be another missed opportunity. But I think our chances are better with a 4-3-3 then they are with McFred.

I don't see it happening. I think we are still operating under the naive assumption that Pogba will extend his contract. I fully expect that when Pogba does leave on a free we will shit ourselves and spend big on yet another box to box midfielder (naturally Donny won't be even considered as a potential replacement) and that will leave little if anything left for a DM.

Frustrates the shit out of me that we have to pigeon hole midfielders as a CM or CDM or AM, i know times of changed and all that but they're fuckin fucking midfielders, they should be able to do the lot, yes they will be better at some aspects than others but they should be able to have an all round game that sees them able to attack and defend, as well as having a bit of a footballing brain
