Just on lingard and not sure how true it is, but it was on the radio the other day and I can't remember who It was but apparently it was one of his siblings that asked him not to leave Manchester, I believe it was from what happened to his mum and he was looking after them at one point, and if he was going to move it would have been to a more local team so he could still be around for them. Yeah, because poor Lingard couldn't afford a flight from London to Manchester on short notice. Or, doth forbid, get the train. Or he could take them with him and take care of them?

Yeah he could easily afford obviously maybe he just didn't want to be away from his family though? I don't know his family situation, but wasnt it only last year when he siblings was living with him? If it's family reasons why he didn't want to go to London full time then I totally get it, I work away probably 70% of the time.

Kessie has apparently turned down Milan's offer of a new contract. And Grillitsch's move to Milan fell through at the last minute, and he's in the last year of his contract. Either one would make a big difference. Both would be better if Pogba is leaving and we plan on going 4-3-3.

At the end of the day, Lingard is an employee and it isn't our job to make sure his socks roll up and down after we end his employment. He has no issue commuting for the second half of last season. I know this might seem really harsh but it isn't a transfer to China were talking about here.

Not everyone wants to be moved away from where they have grew up You can't always get what you want.football is a ruthless business and we can’t just keep a player here so he can be around the greater Manchester area and he has to be shipped out if he’s not good enough. That’s life but he’s a multi millionaire footballer who can well afford to make all the arrangements that are needed. My post sounds uncaring and cold but that’s the way it has to be.

If this is true then it highlights my issues with players/contracts these days. The " i don't want to leave because of a family issue" fuck your family... this is business. if you deny a move that your employer if pushing for you should take a immediate pay cut, but we cater to these pre madonna's and let it fuck up us building a winning team. I know it sounds insensitive, but to get paid the money he does for him to sit his ass on the bench and take up a roster spot because his personal issues is bollocks.

People seem to be spending a lot of emotion on a report about Lingard’s alleged reasons for not leaving. A report which is almost certainly bollocks.

Something just seems very off about him staying.
His spell at West Ham got him back in the England set up and was giving him the regular football he wanted and won’t ever get with us as his best position is where Bruno plays and we are stacked with options out wide. West Ham ended up having to spend 30m euros on some east European dude late in the window so they had funds but had clearly been told by either ole or Jesse not to bother as they didn’t come in with any late bid.
And as a result we are forced to offer a new contract to a player who is surplus to requirements that will make his wages unaffordable for smaller clubs and we will be stuck with him.
Just feels like a lose lose proposition for us and West Ham

Just feels like a lose lose proposition for us and West Ham I think he’s just happy in his comfort zone like martial. if a player is happy just to sit on the bench he probably shouldn’t be at a top club anyway.
