Re player sales it is not a sellers' market and the high salaries we put players on make it difficult to sell them for decent prices especially to smaller clubs. It would be unreasonable to think that in a market where we are scooping up quality players for bargain prices that we can sell our cast offs for a premium.
Pogba is a similar situation to Varane but worse because PSG do not seem to have a strong interest and are probably prepared to wait a year to sign him on a free if we try to play hardball. We might be able to get £30-£40m. Anything more is completely unrealistic given PSG are the only prospective buyer and he only has a year left on his contract.
We seem to have priced Lingard out of a move to West Ham. Ole seems happy to keep him around and Lingard probably won't force a move and will let Ole fob him off with promises of more playing time.
Martial is on £250K a week so we'll struggle to get a decent fee for him especially after last season.
Unfortunately I think that we're close to hitting a dead end. The Glazers haven't changed overnight and Sancho and Varane is already a very good summer and our rumoured transfer budget was £100m so we are already over budget and getting to the point where we need to sell players if we are to continue spending.
If we can get a fee for Pogba I can see us buying a replacement. If the price for Trippier falls to around £20m and we can get £10m or so for Dalot I can see us doing that. And there is a chance that even if we don't manage to sell Pogba we might bring in Camavinga as an Amad type deal (assuming of course that he's willing to join us).
But yeah I think we need to sit tight and hope that Pogba does the decent thing for once in his life and forces a move so we can get some cash in and buy a replacement who is a better fit such as Saul.

West Ham wouldn’t pay 25 million for him so fuck them.

This is quite good on what Neves would potentially bring to Utd. Bear in mind it was done before we clinched Varane.

If we are not going after Saul, we should be throwing 60m at Leicester for ndidi and test the water.

If we are not going after Saul, we should be throwing 60m at Leicester for ndidi and test the water. After they robbed us of 90 for Maguire, they will laugh at the 60. He's probably in the top 2 when it comes to their most important players.

Maguire had that English tax though, the same with what Kane and grealish will have, I'd imagine if we seriously wanted ndidi we would get him for less the Maguire, obviously that all depends if the player wanted to actually move too.

Speaking of that English tax, I hope city are fully bent over paying that for Kane or Grealish. Villa’s rumoured asking price for Grealish is £100 million!

Apparently more sales needed if we’re going to buy another midfielder. Leave it to our club to kill the good vibes. How about showing strength in the market and adding first and worry about sales near the end of window.

The club has no point. Don't give rubbish players huge contracts to 'protect value' and then don't be stingy cunts about replacing them in advance when they are - somewhat shockingly - rubbish and we don't win anything.

The point is strengthen first, worry about the deadwood they signed and extended later. Add a CDM and this is our best summer post Fergie

Are they generally ambitious all of a sudden or is it being fattened up for a sale?
Either suits me
