That said, he'd deserve at least partial blame because his first yellow was very stupid and needless. He still loses it sometimes. |

VAR is a farce for many reasons, but one of the main things for me is that the technology is ultimately used as an interpretation tool for the idiots who screwed it up in the first place. At least with something like Hawkeye in cricket, and tennis, an escalation to the technology provides a proper empirical decision. In football all it’s led to is over-elaborate rule-making by a bunch of people who are largely too stupid to have that power and responsibility. It’s completely pointless.
