Up to the point where he swapped both fullbacks I thought we were OK. I do feel sorry for van de beek but I thought he was really poor tonight and at one point he looked like he was wadding through treacle he was that slow and his passing was bobbins. Not sure what he brings to the squad never mind the team
Thought it was crazy changing both fullbacks at once . Suppose one was on a yellow but still it was a risk

It’s some fucking statement that a player that couldn’t find a club last summer is our best player along with Bruno by a country mile It’s a statement that says a lot of clubs should be shaking their heads at the trick they all missed. not the very top sides as most would pass on him due to his wage demands and already having top players in that position. As I’ve said before he’s far better than any of our inconsistent frontline and we need him because we won’t spend the money on the next 25year old Edison cavani in his prime |

I'm annoyed we lost that. Pure shit at the back, but no CB in sight for the summer. Mad. Glad it's Villareal in the final. Arsenal are simply dreadful, but they've had the beating of us recently. Couldn't bear losing to them. Be nice to win this trophy though. Not like the Glazers will build on it, but we do need a trophy. That's been my fear since the quarters. Please just don't lose the final to Arsenal. Thank Christ they're out. |

The are tough to crack and break down, the type of side we’ve struggled with in the past. They remind me of a less talented Sevilla side from last year. But if you remember that game, Rashford, Mason and particularly Martial missed good chances when we were on top. I’d be confident that if Cavani gets similar opportunities he’ll bury them. We should win but this will be the toughest game we’ll face. If our big players show we’ll get it done. |

I was quite shocked at the difference changing the full backs made...
Telles is pretty undisciplined - kept wandering inside leaving the wing exposed and Williams I feel just isn't the quality that we need...
So, we need to have a better alternative to AWB (maybe Dalot?) and a quality back up for Shaw...(maybe from the youth setup? I'm not sure what we have there tbh...)
BTW, I was given the impression that Telles was some kind of assist machine...he really hasn't shown anything like that...
Donny looked a little lost at times last night but I saw one or two glimpses of his talent...he really needs a run in the side...
Overall, I thought our defence, particularly in the second half, was shite and any team with a strike force that takes its chances would bury us...this needs to be addressed urgently (but won't)...
So we are down to the tried and not very trusted method of trying to score more than we let in...rather than having a solid defence to work from...
For what it's worth, I think we will win the final but that may say more about the competition and opposition than it says about us...
