They were also all great defenders. Maguire is not. OK I'll have one final go. The combination of Maguire Lindelof and De Gea is a lot more trustworthy than Lindelof Bailly and Henderson. It doesn't make Maguire peak Nesta. It just means one combination is better than the other. That's all I'm saying. Haha, no I understand. I’m just not sure that Maguire adds anything, like a few people have said already Bailly hasn’t done much wrong tonight and ultimately my point is that: (I) all our CBs are below par; and (II) Maguire adds very little, and I don’t understand the view that we’re better with him, in the same way I don’t understand why any new CB that we might acquire needs to “add balance” to Maguire, he needs to bugger off like Lindelof does. As long as Maguire is seen as a mainstay we’re screwed, given we only play him because Woodward was playing Football Manager on a ZX81 and decided to buy him and make him undroppable. |
