I heard Aladdin has been banned from the Tokyo games. He was supposed to participate in the flying carpet race. After testing though, its been discovered the he is using performance enhancing rugs... This belongs in that old Shooting Stars bit where Vic told the crap joke every week. |

Good day so far, gold and silver in BMX, silver and bronze in the pool and a bronze in rowing.
I think BMX racing is my new favourite event

Looks like Fab Friday so far! 7 Medals. As Dazjoe said. BMX brings gold in the Women's. Medals in the water. A bronze in the Women's Trampoline too. Guaranteed medals in the boxing too.
Dina Asher-Smith safely into the Women's 100m in Track and Field. For me, the second weekend of the Olympics is when it truly starts.

as difficult as its been for them to put the games on, ive quite enjoyed it. britain so unlucky in some events either. fine margins at that level of competition.
now i want a race BMX and a track to go to ....
struggle to understand how the russians can still compete after being banned.

I'm sure there are clean athletes among them but considering the size and scope of the doping program in Russia, it's impossible to trust them. Yeah they might be clean now but I'm sure some athletes have gained from there use in the long term. |

As a Brit living in Australia we've got to win more golds than them, still need a few more, Aussie's gone really well in the pool.

Again for the Irish lot here, the Yanks disqualified from the 4x400 mixed relay, opening the door for the Irish team in the final, along with GB. Hope both teams can pick up a medal

Unless the cyclists and Track and field lot can smash expectations! But the Aussies rule the pool, so basically their games have finished. If anything this olympics sets us up nicely for Paris. The twins in the women’s gymnastics, if they’re handled and funded well are medal hopefuls for that, along with some of the men who have been brilliant for the last 5 years. We just need to make sure the sports where we’ve done we with little to no funding, like rugby 7s are supported. A hundred grand sees the GB men win a bronze at least this year, so they can concentrate on training and their mortgage, rather than crowdfunding, which really should be a national shame! |
