Do we have anyone here who does anything with crypto currencies?
The wife and I have just gotten into it the last few weeks, got a friend who has been doing it a little while who was able to point us in the right direction.
Shows my ignorance, but honestly, I thought it was as simple as going to the website of the currency (say Bitcoin) and just popping your details in to buy some.
Wowzers, is it complicated! Bloody nightmare to get started and buy some up.
This isn't a daft fishing thing by the way, not going to say "Hey guys, why not buy up Dazjoe Coin, it's the future!" just wondering if anyone tried delving into the world of crypto's at all.

I know little about it but my sister's been at it for a few months now. And on the main one she invested in, called StrikeX, she's managed to turn £7.50 into £6000!
Really wish I listened when she told me I should buy into it too..

I often sit down and tell myself that I’m going to research Crypto and understand it, but each and every time it begins to sail over my head fairly early on. I’d love to know if anyone can make me understand it because I would genuinely like to.

its a mine field and you got to know what your doing otherwise its just a pure gamble.
there are some good apps though. especially swissborg. can yield Ethereum and a few other coins.

It is a minefield alright.
We're just going small, so if we lose it no real biggie. Only 2 we've went reasonably big on is Solana and Fantom.
Bought a few other real cheap ones in the hope they explode liKe Shibainu or Dogecoin did. You never know!

Looked into it myself but until I know more or get a better understanding of how it works I'll still to watching rather than investing. |

So there's a glitch which is yet to be resolved.
This glitch made it appear when I checked my wallet this morning that my little investment was now worth around 500 billion US dollars.
Nearly spat me tea out!
Tell you what, had it been real the 1st thing that would have happened is Ole would have been out on his arse, 'cos I'd be the new owner of United.

Yeah it's all above my head too. The big bombing is when people with a lot of coins cash out apparently. It's like shares I think, the price is impacted by whatever is happening in the market, so if people start selling then the price drops. I've gone from $1,000 to $2,250 in one that I've invested in, well aware that could disappear in the blink of an eye though! |

If you're smart and know how to read crypto markets then you can make alot of money but most people lose money. There no different than equity markets these days, a gamblers paradise.
