It'll probably finish 0-0 but make a massive deal over the fact we've got a clean sheet. There'll be some deflection somewhere. As was said i the Liverpool thread...we need to suffer another humiliation... I am now not sure what it will take to get Ole sacked... A fan revolt might help but I can't see that somehow... |

Still can’t want us to lose. I know it’s for the greater good, but us winning just feels nice. Yeah I'm the same. Ole's going to keep losing games and eventually get himself sacked without me willing it. Truth is we're in such a shit position now this season that we actually need to win games. |

It is not just our league position. Although you really have to wonder when Ole was making excuses last season that we needed to bring in 2-3 players to close the gap with City and gets those players and is already eight points adrift of the top and we have no real prospect of making any impactful signings until January at the earliest and that is a difficult window to do business in so realistically the summer and that basically means our season is already a write off and likely to be worse than last season as Chelsea and Liverpool are so much stronger.
Our goal difference is only +1 whereas City and Liverpool are both +20 or more.
We have an embarassment of attacking riches....Ronaldo, Cavani, Greenwood, Sancho, Bruno, Rashford, Pogba etc. And we are barely managing to score more goals than we concede. And our form over the last five games is typical of relegation candidates with three losses, a draw and a win.
There is clear evidence that this is not just some temporary slump in form that can be turned around under present management. We simply do not look at all like a team this season and we look totally shambolic and our attack has lost its chemistry and our midfield cannot string a pass together and our defence crumbles at the slightest bit of pressure and any early progress in defending set pieces seems to have reversed.
I think it is absolutely disgraceful that someone as experienced and successful as Ferguson refuses to see what is clear as day and leans on the Glazers to make changes. Instead he is using his position of authority and the Glazers' and Woodward and Arnold's naivety when it comes to footballing matters to pressure them to give Ole more time and keep the faith.
Yes winning feels nice but not the way we've been doing it this season relying on luck and individual skill instead of a cohesive team performance with individual brilliance the icing on the cake rather than plasters over the cracks.
Really I want Ole to get completely exposed and humiliated the way he did against Liverpool. He has been bluffing for so long and feeding us all this crap about it being a process and a transition and promising we are making progress and getting closer and pretending like there is some kind of master plan or grand scheme when really he has been completely winging it from the beginning. And he hasn't even had the humility to recognize his limitations and bring in top class technical coaches to help with the tactics and so on instead preferring to give jobs to old boys that he knows will be unquestionably loyal and not challenge his authority or expose him for the fraud he is.
Of course it is not completely his fault. The board should have realized a season or two ago that Ole had done his job as a caretaker manager in restoring some harmony and had taken us as far as he was ever going to and lined up a proper successor. But Ole has received far more favourable treatment than LVG and Jose despite having a vastly superior squad at his disposal and has been dining out on that CL final winner for far too long. Club legend sure. Managerial legend no fucking way. It hurts to think of all the potential trophies we have missed out on during his managerial reign. And the sooner we get someone like Conte on board who can actually win stuff the better.
