Ah yes. The mighty Go Ahead Eagles and Utrecht. I stand corrected. BTW that wasn’t even remotely my point. I was just saying that Ajax has a unique, integrated philosophy around how football should be played and Ten Hag has totally bought into the philosophy of playing football in a Rinus Michels way. There are some really good books around that philosophy and how it affected the development of football tactics. forgetting he was at munich too. maybe not as head manager but still understands football. hes at the perfect age and perfect time to step on to the biggest stage and compete with the best managers. similar to Nagelsman that we also missed out on as he went to a proper football club. Absolutely he was, with the B team. Look, for the third time, I’m not saying I don’t rate the guy, I am saying he would be destroyed by the politics and inefficiency of this club unless he had the guidance of someone like VDS to give him the oxygen he needs to cultivate his way of working. And that ain’t never going to happen.

His farewell interview was a sad watch. If that wasn’t his idea, and given the fact his eyes were clearly still stinging from the emotion of the day, I’m guessing it’s not, then this club is pure fucking evil.

I mean Carrick has been sat there beside Ole, like a statue. But they somehow deem him to now be our 'current' interim manager. So he now gets to consult our dream team of Phelan and McKenna on the iPad?
*shudder*
Definitely can see this season being more horrendous than it already is, because they'll probably piss about trying to get an 'official' interim manager. Whoever gets the manager's gig could be arriving into some raging house fire at Old Trafford.

I wish he’d won that Europa because at least he’d (and we) would always have that.

Samuel luckhurst has put it out there and now hope all others follow suit, a decision has to be made on the captaincy. Feed me. Inject it into my veins.

You could sense with some of the players that maybe they thought Ole had taken us as far as he could. I honestly wish things had gone better. There were ‘green shoots’ so often, but for every corner we turned, it seemed to loop back to the same street.

If we had spawned that UEFA Cup we would have been suffering another six months of progress and rebuild bullshit. A bad second and that failed cup run were secured enough for the apologists.

Don’t know if anyone else has posted his final interview tonight,I’m not, as it was really sad, and a tad uncomfortable , per other comments on here. Ole had clearly been extremely emotional before he went to camera, and was on the verge of tears during it. I really hope that his severance wasn’t wrapped up in this MUTV interview in any way. If it was-and I sincerely bloody hope it wasn’t ,then this club have gone so far beyond the pail as is reasonable to expect.

With all this fumbling around, I have little hope we will get the right manager. Sacking Ole and retaining his backroom staff is farcical and a bad sign. For me, it would be more attractive coming into a club with a clean slate.

Anybody see Mr Rooney’s interview on SSN? “You couldn’t refuse an offer from United” or similar. I spy another club ‘Leg’ arriving, WITH the requisite DNA ,who ‘gets’ the club-obvs-and staying for another three years while the board, and the parasites stand back and admire their handiwork! AGAIN.

Once they started pitching his job he should have settled with the club during the international break. He kind of pretended nothing had happened.

It's all pretty funny really.
If you'd asked me at the end of last season, how could the next few months perfectly sum up modern Manchester United, I'd have probably said we'll award Ole and his team for a season of failure with new deals, sign big name players in the summer but not cover the most obvious position that needs an upgrade, fuck up selling someone for decent money and lose him for nothing next summer instead, be even worse than we were despite the new big name players, ignore all logic by refusing to sack Ole despite there being outstanding candidates for the role sitting and waiting, once said candidate/candidates have given up and taken up new roles at other, smarter clubs, immediately sack Ole, appoint a former player for the here and now, get overexcited when the former player turns things around in the first couple of months, mainly because players start giving their all trying to impress whoever the new actual manager will be, and award this caretaker a big spanking permanent deal.
And repeat.

AGAIN. He’s done an excellent job under extremely difficult conditions at Derby. Again, not the right man, of course, but he’s doing good work so far, and would be interesting if he can do something at a club with loftiest ambitions and less sanctions than Derby County. And that’s not me saying I want Rooney here as manager, more observation he’s doing a good job atm.
