It must be their version of April Fools Day in the US, surely?

This was just before Shaw became the best left back in Europe? Or are you conveniently forgetting that too? I’m aware of the date of the quote. Just thought it was interesting to see the new manager’s take on Shaw, who is currently playing like dog shit. That nonsense last night about Bruno and now this?

Am I wrong to start having a little bit of optimism about how the club might be heading?
Rangnick for the next few months, then stepping upstairs to sort that side of things out and leave the managing to a proper actual manager? That sounds like something that could work, and that a club that knows what it's doing, would do.
I mean, even a stopped clock is right twice a day, so likely they've just stumbled onto this by pure accident.

There were some decent pieces there but his arrival changed everything.

Hope Luke is throwing out all his ice cream This was just before Shaw became the best left back in Europe? Or are you conveniently forgetting that too? Whatever Shaw did for eight months, he sure as shit ain't the best now. Needs to lay off the 'za.

Wasn't it Rangnick that wanted the DoF position before he was beat out by the overqualified competition that is Darren Fletcher and his 100% United DNA? Some of us were calling for Rangnick to be made DoF when Ole was initially appointed, things would probably have been different had the board acquiesced and done this, instead of pretending that they were looking for one. I remain utterly surprised that someone as well respected as him has deigned to take the job, given our floundering ,idiotic board. Someone must've had a brain fart!

No real mystery why Rangnick is accepting. He knows that simply by achieving very modest expectations i.e. top 4 he will get a massive bonus as well as a very cushy consultant role at the end of it. I have zero problem with that as why else would someone of his stature in the game join a mess like us? But in this case it will be money well spent and I am confident that he will be able to clean up the mess Ole left behind and save our season.

So very pleased with this appointment...he can totally revamp what we have into a cohesive unit... ...and pave the way for ten Hag to take us to the top level...

I don’t think he is after a cushy role...if I read the guy right then I think he wants to be the man that turned us into a world class team again...imagine the kudos...him and ten Hag...

It will be fascinating to see how a proper football man, and a football philosopher, gets to grips with the most undercoached “big club” on Earth. Bring it on. It's also going to be fascinating watching him try to teach pretty much any of our attackers bar Cavani how to to press. Whatever happens, it's going to be fun to watch.

Hope Luke is throwing out all his ice cream Has he seen AWB? Apparently he asked about AWB, so we lied and said he was part of a community outreach program.

I love the fact that RR has demanded total control over all football matters. LVG & Jose were/are world class managers that largely failed, they failed because of the idiots around them making footballing decisions. RR has been very shrewd & is not going to let his reputation & record be tarnished by bankers.
Of all be back room staff,I hope Carrick is retained & allowed to learn his trade, the rest can go.

The thing is he will need to be given his time to work behind the scene, allowed to choose the manager and make the necessary changes in squad , there is no use giving him 6 months and appointing someone else with a totally different idea of football.

Here's hoping Rangnick has the Jupp Heyneckes effect on us.
Hopefully the first thing he does is Bench cupped ears.
