I am not saying Ronaldo should not be a team player but anyone who doesn’t think that young lads like Sancho and Rashford should not do the majority of the running and pressing in a front 3 is deluded. It’s all about squad rotation and in game management to get the best out of all of them which we all know ole was absolutely clueless at but hopefully RR will address this(as will his replacement). add 2 or 3 good signings and this will be a totally different team.

I personally think that you only bench Ronaldo if you have someone better or on his level(Messi) even at 36.
I'm glad he didn't high five Carrick at the end.

Even young Ronaldo had rooney and tevez and park to do that work. His job is singular. Anyone else suggesting he needs to change his game is a moron.

Chelsea midfield under peak Jose should be our blueprint. Sitting midfielder that is good on the ball and mobile Box to box midfielder with lots of energy, strong and quality either way Goal scoring midfielder (Bruno)
We need the other 2 roles covered. One in Jan and the other in the summer unless Rangnick had two bargains in mind once we sell a few in January.

As soon as Sancho took that ball I would have bet my house he finished or made the right pass. If that was James last year you know it would have been a missed opportunity.
We have to fucking sort out this RB and CM situation, which should have been addressed this year or last in MF at least. We have incredible forwards and play makers, just a few additions to improve the quality in MF and RB and a better coaching team. It really shouldn't be such a bloody drama at this stage

The fact we were trying to buy Trippier means they know there's an issue with AWB. They aren't blind it's just we paid 50M for him and that's the issue
We are also losing out on not getting the most out of Sancho on the right with a RB who can't play and CM players who can't ping a ball or find him or any of the other forwards

That was before yesterdays game. www.theguardian.com/football/2021/nov/23/manchester-united-future-can-be-bright-build-around-jadon-sancho-not-cristiano-ronaldo-villarrealBut even amid these long periods of stalemate, often played out against a deathly hush, Sancho was still probably United’s best player. He had one of the best chances of the game, exchanging neat passes with Bruno Fernandes before seeing his shot saved by Rulli. He covered well for Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back. He didn’t have loads of the ball but almost invariably did something interesting with it. Inevitably Sancho’s performance here will be attributed to the departure of Solskjær but in truth it was probably coming anyway. Sancho is, after all, a brilliantly inventive player who has been adapting and finding solutions his whole career. Nonetheless, imagine how demotivating it must be as a world-class player to know that you are playing under a coach who does not know how to maximise your talent, who is not going to swell your trophy cabinet, who is not going to improve you. No wonder Sancho has looked like a player trying to make it up on the fly: in a way he was. No wonder Sancho has looked like a player trying to make it up on the fly: in a way he was. And yet the irony is that for all the missteps United have taken in the last few years, the wasted money and wasted time, the general pall of late-Solskjær disaster, United’s future actually looks reasonably bright. Donny van de Beek is 24. They still have a 20-year-old Mason Greenwood. Sancho is only 21 and, with an elite coach, a midfield screen worthy of the name and a right-back who does not panic every time he crosses the halfway line, United could build its next decade around him. He is that good. Time for a reset. Time to embrace pace and complexity and technical excellence. Time to leave the past behind.

AWB came in and his defending was excellent. His recoveries sometimes are down to poor positioning and reading of the game but he is young so I expected that with the facilities we have and coaching he would improve not only that but also his attacking.
He simply has regressed, been overused and under challenged in the team. I think we should see what Rangnick can do in 6 months, if there is no progress then in the summer we should be looking to get someone in. Others have alluded to this but an option is to simply get Laird in January and see what he can do.
The most immediate need is a CDM

I think we have to remember that our players have been undercoached for THREE years under Ole. So it is no surprise that a lot of the younger players look a bit lost on the pitch and lacking in confidence and can be quite inconsistent.
Rashford in particular I think could be world class by now if he had a proper manager over the last three years who had managed his injury situation a lot better. So his progression under Rangnick will be exciting to watch.
Obviously in Sancho and Donny we have some of Europe's most exciting talent and both were left out in the cold by Ole and will be happy to be able to prove their worth under a new manager.
Scotty and AWB are obviously quite limited players but very coachable so should improve a lot or at least be much better team players under Rangnick.
I honestly think people will be very surprised at how quickly and how much we can improve under Rangnick. And I think with a few smart January additions and some big signings in the summer rubberstamped by Rangnick we could be challenging for the title and the Champions League.

Roy didn't think it was jobs boys until his mate got the boot Better late than never. There is an ounce of bitterness in his comments to boot. Roy's under the impression he could have done this job based on the question he was asked about not getting a call. One thing I've learnt from the last 3 years, is just how much we could do without legends running matters at this club. Roy's no nonsense approach to anything is perfect if your a player but modern footballers couldn't hack it from a manager. There's being demanding, then there's pulling peoples heads off in the changing rooms for making a mistake.
