Was out shagging, so missed first half. Needed 2nd half to recover. Should’ve taken viagra. Everyone else just going to let him softball this in like that? I think we’re all hoping it was a typo.

It confounds me that anyone can think Dalot is a worse footballer than wan-Bissaka. Just clocked Maguire clapping him as well

It is insane that Ole was allowed to spend £130M on Maguire and AWB and of course with those crazy price tags we'd struggle to get half what we paid for them and that may make it difficult for Ralf or his successor to push for their sale.
I worry that Ralf could run into similar problems to LVG and Jose in that he has a particular way he wants to play but will struggle to bring in players of the quality he needs to execute it perfectly. I was hoping he would be a bit more pragmatic in his approach especially as he is only here for 6 months. But of course he is still a massive upgrade on Ole.

This is what gives clubs with sugar daddies an unfair advantage over the rest of us. they hail pep as a genius but if he had signed Maguire and awb they would already be on the bench or loaned out because the club would have just backed him and spent whatever to replace them.where as clubs like Utd,Liverpool, arsenal and spurs have to live with poor signings for a few years and somehow shoehorn them into the team until they are moved on. on top of that those loaned out players can’t play against the parent club but can play against all their rivals. the powers that be need to address this and the clubs without rich benefactors should speak as one voice before the game is totally ruined.

McT played very well last night as a box to box mid. He has that in him unlike Fred, but I wouldn't get carried away, it was Burnley and he tends to have good games against this kind of team, when we have a lot of space. If we play a decent team who flood MF or play 3 there unlike Burnley who we matched 442, any of those 3 Mids now with Matic past it plus Maguire is a complete liability!
I've no idea what is going on with DVB, but it looks like he is not wanted. We need to buy a CM in January if we are to have any real season ahead, but it's unlikely. We will just carry on with a mediocre or past it CM with Pogba in Pogba land and DVB on the bench.
Maguire is having a public meltdown, so a big decision on him is needed!

Lest we forget, Pep was also in for Maguire. Although I’m sure he was bringing him in as an expensive squad player like he eventually did with Ake rather than captain and linchpin like we did. AWB is a tough one though, most of us saw that as a really good signing at the time so I’m reluctant to bash anyone for it. I think we all realised pretty early doors that AWB wasn’t very good going forward, but we still would’ve hoped to have see him kick on. What’s scary about him is that if you go back to his Palace days, he’s actually a converted winger. How he made it that far through the youth setup as a wide player is beyond me.

I think we’re all hoping it was a typo. Personally I assumed/hoped it was ‘shopping.’

I don't believe the rumours either Guardiola or Mourinho wanted Maguire. Apparently city also wanted Fred, remember. AWB is easy in hindsight. Looked the business at Palace and initially here, but in the cold light of reality he had a good three-quarter season at Palace with obvious flaws in his game. But he was hot shit and we were desperate so at the time signing an actual right back seemed like manna.

Wrong coaching, environment, over played, no competition, no accountability, lack of focus etc etc. who knows but whatever it is means we have the player we have now. Maguire was a con, he was never worth what we paid, slash the fee in half and deduct £10 million and based on what we saw then that was a fairer price. Think city were genuinely in but when Leicester wanted silly money I believe they thought he wasn’t worth a penny above £70 mill based on performance and English hype premium. That figure in itself amazes me
