'Ten Hag insisted there was always significant money at his disposal but admitted that United's budget had grown in recent weeks'

Garner for such a low fee with no buyback clause is just baffling. So much for tough negotiator Murtagh. My vain hope is that Garner was shipped out without getting a shot because Iqbal and Mainoo are so highly rated and ready to get blooded in that he wouldn't get a look in anyway.

I'm really excited about Antony. Fuck the fee. I love a tricky player, I love an industrious player, but it's rare to find a player that's both. Antony seems to be that player. I have a soft spot for left footers, as well.

I think there's a bit of the Arjen Robben about Antony, especially in the way he shapes his body when dribbling.
Cannot wait to see him out there.

Not surprised PSV won’t let Gapko go, Ajax have been ransacked, another player refusing to train due to transfer bids, PSV have a good shot at the league.

So what are we rating the transfer window?
6/10 for me. It was a complete clusterfuck for all of it minus the last few weeks. Because of their inability to do more than a deal at a time, they put all their eggs in the De Jong basket and it was a total waste of time. Embarrassing. Meant we didn't have players in at the start which could have made a difference in our 2 defeats. We also would have got Antony for loads cheaper.
Ended up spending £214m with £20m in.
Still have deadwood that can't be shifted and players have gone on loan who should have been sold. Garner should have been sold for more money.
On the flipside, we were never going to do it all in one summer. Would they have spent so much if it wasn't for Jim Ratcliffe? We could have ended up with Rabiot and Arnautovic. What a mess.

I think this was a very poor transfer window in the sense that it exposed, yet again, all the dysfunctions at the club management level.
Also, it might just be fan conspiracy theory, but I don’t even think we’d end up with Casemiro and Antony had the first two games of the season gone well. Which is an infuriating notion that I can’t rub off.

7/10 for me.
Half the defence has been upgraded resulting in captain clogger being relegated to the bench along with his half arsed England team mate.
Midfield has been improved so I don’t have to watch mcfred week in week out.
A quality winger signed.
Saying that all these deals should have been done in June and we all know the club panicked because of the growing discontent among the fan base.
