There is no directive nor any editorial decision to mask specific chanting related to Manchester United's ownership – and we can confirm that no such action was taken in the games you reference. Sky Sports Premier League coverage, including contributing experts, and Sky Sports News coverage, has all contained discussion and debate on the topic of ownership including fan views.
There are a number of microphones surrounding the pitch and the audio mix will focus on those closest to the phase of play. This can make the sound on TV different to that which an individual fan might experience live in a particular section of a stadium.
Under Ofcom guidelines, broadcasters are required to provide adequate protection to audiences from harmful and offensive material. On occasion Sky will limit the audio when offensive language can be heard, but to confirm again, we did not take any preventative measures during the games you reference.
