Blew my mind that did, attention to detail is next level. Wonder if her learned it from Pep?

Good record, my concern and I think this is a fair one, we still don't have a discernible style of play. What are we about? Still a counter attacking team?

How many times have all of us said 'they look like a bunch of lads who just met'. Its utterly baffling how every single manager after Fergie suddenly look like a clueless idiot when managing us. Our play looks so disjointed , players looking surprised when the ball comes or misplacing simple passes. Just look at city , they seems to have so much time on the ball when they play.

There seems to be something of a fear factor playing under Guardiola he`s pitch side demanding when its not going to plan, ETH is a bit meh in comparison.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but take Klopp for example. You could immediately see what he was doing and the style. The was alot of inconsistency as they didn't have the fitness levels and players to execute fully but once they sorted that, the results were clear to see. I think we have a good manager no doubt but we really need to see more this season, he is at the biggest club in the world media wise so everything is under a microscope.
Thus far Qatar buying us will not be the silver bullet because based on the likes of Antony, Sancho and Maguire money will be wasted by the people that deal with transfers. We have to get alot better with our planning, act fast when our scouts recommend cheap talent like alvarez and caicedo. Learn to cut our loses too before too much damage is done.

There is no danger the people dealing with transfers/scouting will be staying in a job should a takeover actually happen. The club will be booked in for a round of colonic irrigation.

The main operative factors in Erik's first season going pretty well were:
1) Dropping Maguire and bringing in Martinez who formed a great partnership with Varane.
2) Casemiro Eriksen providing a short term fix to our midfield problems.
3) Rashford having a purple patch mid-season.
To some degree they will still apply in his second season. Defence should be OK so long as Varane can avoid injury problems.
But midfield is clearly screwed as Casemiro and Eriksen are a year older and losing their legs and Mount was a terrible signing.
Also Rashford is inconsistent so it is hard to guess what kind of season he will have. But with Hojlund so raw and inexperienced if Rashford does have a bad season or picks up some injuries we are in all kinds of trouble.

Apparently we hadn't even scouted Mount,he was just signed on ETH's say so.

I don’t think it was a good signing, but what else are you learning about him?

Scouting is for non league players or youth players you don't see regularly playing in your league.

Scouting is for non league players or youth players you don't see regularly playing in your league. Most transfer normal targets that are signed that are not just deadline day panic signings are scouted, irrespective of league & standard of player. With well known players most of the other stuff that you reference tapes, stats software analysis generally takes place prior to watching a known player.
