And it's Barcelona in the 2 leg draw Top 4 cup or nothing for us this year We may get a domestic cup but i'd wager even the top 4 cup is well beyond us. I was thinking the hope for us is that Chelsea and Spurs are actually crap.(both lost at the weekend) We win these two games that were supposed to be easier on paper and the 2 at the end of Dec and we were probably in a good position like 3rd by year end. We get some key injured players back after the WC by Jan 1 and buy a useful striker All of this of course is just me dreaming.

Better we finish outside top 4 get knocked out of Europa League and the fans kick off and we get enough money in the summer to make 3-4 quality additions so we finish the rebuild.

We need one quality signing in Jan and top 4, Europa and a cup is more than achievable. Worry about the summer when it comes. A striker is a must. Lose out on all of that and we won't get many quality signings without overpaying once again. It's a vicious cycle that needs to end. Finishing outside the top 4 isn't that.

We are also rans in the trophies that really mean something. Might as well deny the financial rapists their manna.

Maybe when the Glazers realize they need to pony up £200M every summer to achieve top 4 football and ESL remains a pipe dream they will follow Liverpool's example and invite offers.

They tried that, remember? People are wise to the Glazers looking for 'investment' for the square root of nowt in return.

Supposedly we are in talks with an American investment company for a sale of just under 4 billion.
Whilst I am all for a sale, those kind of companies always want to see a return meaning they might not heavily invest, but the flipside could be they see the longterm vision which is they can only see a return if we are returned to our former pomp.
If all else fails,, beg Sir Alex to reverse that cross roads deal.

I was listening to LBC today and they was talking about Liverpool being for sale, and the same as it being an American consortium looking at buying, basically the guy said in 2-3 years the ESL will be revived and that's why they want in now, because the money will be huge, 1 pound per game to watch as a customer over 100s of millions of fans around the world, silly sums.

I remember Castles talking about this on his podcast. The amount of money United could make streaming their own games would be pure filth.

We're using the same thread for the cup game. That sums up the mood towards this game, couldn't really care!
