As moderators, we are becoming increasingly annoyed and concerned by the current status of the forum. On an almost daily basis, we are seeing constant bitching and sniping at each other and it's turning the whole board toxic. During this years World Cup, it appears to have got worse. Healthy debate is one thing, but it's getting to personal levels and it needs to stop. No more ganging up on people for their views, bringing up old subjects that have been resolved and pointless comments designed to start tension for absolutely no reason.
Moving forward, we will be issuing warning levels, suspensions and in extreme circumstances, full site bans. We're not saying there can't be debates that can get heated as we wouldn't want to take that away, but if it gets to be too much, we will start taking action. Oh and staff members are included in this.
The forum has been going for a long time and I can't remember a time when it's been like this so we really want to get it back to a more fun place. A lot of people have muted other members and I don't like that it's come to those kind of extremes.
To help us manage the forum, we have asked Kojak and Johnboy14 to become moderators and we are happy that they have accepted.
Now, if anybody has any issues with this, you are free to leave the forum. There are many United forums out there where you could join. I do hope that it doesn't come to this and you understand why we have had to take these steps. I'm sure that most of you will agree that it has become toxic recently and we can't let it continue.
