Up to now Garnacho looks far more comfortable on the right than anyone. Hope Sancho comes back stronger after having some time out to sort himself. Still would like to see him played as a No.10 though rather than on the right. Not much to say on Antony up to now, deserves some leeway as the lad needs time to settle, he's only played a dozen times. He's shown he has talent so hopefully we'll start seeing that as the season progresses. Not sure I've ever seen Garnacho on the right. Or am I tripping? Ignore that part. Had a brain fart then, he's not played there so my mistake. Changed it now.

To put it in perspective Felix has played 120 games at league level aged 23. Rashford was around 180 by that age all in the prem. We leant on him way too early and he burned out. He’s now looking like he’s finally rebounded. Owen and Fowler were both playing too much football too young and were finished before they hit 30. Same with Rooney who is lasting longer than they did but still looked washed up for the last couple of seasons. He's still a kid and should be continuing to develop at a normal rate, not shoved into our first team as a regular just yet. And if he's playing and scoring regular for United you can bet your backside he'll get an England call up too. Not trying to bring negativity into the thread, just saying I'd hate to see him burned out at 28 because the richest club in the world couldn't sign a top class striker to take pressure off the kid. ======= I mean, it pretty much happened. If he avoids injuries he'll be fine.

Think part of it with Rashford is going to be maintaining that pace. Players start getting muscular injuries and that’s when they lose half a yard. Michael Owen was by his own admission just nowhere close to what he was as soon as he started getting hamstring injuries. Fowler lost half a yard and while he was never rapid, that was all it took.
A more recent example is Fernando Torres. Was finished the second he lost half a yard. Couldn’t adapt. Michael Owen managed to somewhat change his game and had the intelligence in the box to keep getting some goals. Torres didn’t have that. Can’t see Rashford having it either.
Messi and Ronaldo played insane amounts of football from their teens onwards, never suffered any burnout. But they avoided major injury.
At the moment Rashford if anything looks as quick as he’s ever been, if not quicker. Think the stats show he’s the fastest over short sprints aside from Haaland.

João Felix is a significantly superior footballer though. There are bloody loads of them. When Rashford delivers trophies then we can discuss getting behind him for the sake of 'he's one of our own'. Superior based on what? Also Rashfords won more trophies than him and he’s done it despite an unstable work environment. He’s played for 5 different managers. Marcus is a phenomenal talent who we burned out at the end of 2021 and it took him time to recover. He’s only 2 years older than Felix and has had years now of premier league experience. Felix is playing for a team well off the pace in la Liga and he’s scored 3 goals in all competitions this year. You’re wasting your time mate. For example- Rashford scored two phenomenal goals in the last 2 games and there wasn’t a peep out of the usual suspects, not even a cursory ‘good goal’ You can be damn sure the next time he misses a chance they’ll take out ads in the paper screaming their displeasure. It’s just ridiculous at this stage.

I'm pretty sure Rashford will suffer a similar fate unless we strengthen the squad in that area instead of relying on one player to carry us. Martials recent form is encouraging.

Have a good laugh when Rashford invariably does this and the consistent voices disappear, I can probably count on two hands the number of semi-objective posts I've put on RoM over time attempting to bring an element of perspective 😂 He'll almost certainly become our all time goalscorer in my view, and I know many others on here have consistently defended him too. If he was playing for Arsenal he'd already be hailed as Henry reincarnate, but we're a *little* tougher on our youth products at United. Anyway, he should be "fucked off to PSG" or loaned out!

Rashford didn't score enough before the World Cup and missed a lot of chances. He was clinical in the World Cup and looking more clinical over the last few games and he has the rest of the season to stake a claim for the number 9 spot as it seems likely that we won't buy anyone and Martial while somehow remaining fit doesn't seem as clinical as he did at the start of the season. So I think we need to give it time and see how things pan out. He has the golden opportunity to be a beneficiary of the Glazer's tight fistedness. He has a coach who is clearly a massive fan and seems to have got over the injuries that dogged him over the last season or two. So I think we need to wait and see how he does for the rest of the season rather than hyperfocusing on each game.
But clearly he has become a very important player for us under Ten Hag and how many goals he manages to score between now and the end of the season will be a major factor in how our season pans out.

You'd swear he'd never seen him play before. I'll admit I was apprehensive when we bought him because Madrid don't tend to sell players at their peak but thankfully that was bullshit.

He should have started the French game in my opinion. The next few years are massive for him and I think he knows that now. He will only get to the next level if he's playing with better players who can push him on.

That's lovely but he could score 1,000 goals for us and it would be next to worthless if we continue not winning things. Look at Shearer or Harry Kane as perfect examples. For all there is an over-inflated top red-ish smugness about liking a bloke who literally told United supporters to fuck off, all your hilarious barbs about those who don't particularly rate him fall at the first hurdle. Major trophies. I'll start fluffing for every Rashford goal when they start to actually mean something.

He's playing his best football in over 18 months, just enjoy it. As I said last night really don't get why every positive has to be met with a negative. Our last few seasons have been garbage with little to cheer about. This season we're finally starting to see this change for the better so may it long continue.
