Absolutely gutted, but let's not lose hope. Also, it's okay to admit AWB has done really well in his last few starts - his defensive abilities were never in doubt, and for the most part people wanted him to offer more going forward. That's where Dalot has left him behind, but as a defender, especially in one on one / last ditch scenarios, AWB is still very, very good. He has barely put a foot wrong since the world cup. He's more than deserves his place at the moment. He's started to offer more going forwards aswell, Just needs to work on his positioning better. Definitely better than people are giving him credit for.

Not convinced with DDG's position for their goal. Gives himself far too much to do to cover his left side,if the ball comes over the wall, which it did. If he gets beaten to his right from there it would have been a worldie to end them all,so why cover more of his right side at from his starting position ? Should have been more central,it's a real weak point to his game that we have seen before, but one that could so easily be coached into him better. That said he kept us in the game, with two cracking saves. We were far too comfortable in the first 1/2,always looked like we had an extra man, intensity levels were not what ETH would have wanted or expected in the 2nd 1/2 Weghorst deserves some slack, easy to see he was way off the pace & it will take some time for him to adapt. Feels like a defeat, which is progress. I was thinking the same - it looked a good 1.5ft or so inside the post and from the lines on the pitch you can see he was positioned closer to the right side of the goal. I dunno, maybe we’re being harsh. Either way - they deserved that equaliser. Shite second half and we should have killed the game off. Difficult to though when Rashford was non existent, Antony is just a waste of space currently, Weghorst looked very rusty, and our ‘playmaker’ Bruno was wank.

Weghorst can be cut all the slack you want, it won’t disguise the fact he’s shite. At a push it’s just about acceptable if he comes off the bench if you’re chasing a goal. If he’s starting games then there is something seriously wrong. No self-respecting top club would countenance such a donkey as their No 9, why on earth should we?
Thankfully when we get new owners these types of nonsense transfers will be a thing of the past. They bloody better be.

I’ve just watched the lead up to the free kick for them and I’d say that’s a perfect example as to why EtH probably still wants to replace DDG. Varane passes it back to him and he has a simple pass out to Martinez but the fucking idiot just hoofs it straight back to them and about 3s later they win the free kick.
World class at shot stopping, still very very average with the ball at his feet.

The guy literally stopped us from losing the game. Do find people over analyse every little thing he does, his passing wasnt even that bad last night either. Apart from the Everton cock up he's been back to his best this season aswell.

Weghorst looked totally overwhelmed and far from match fit, I really hope its that hopefully he can settle in and be useful I thought he was supposed to be a very good presser of the ball but didn't see any of that. Antony just wasn't effective again I still think he`s a bad buy, Rasher looked like he was playing blindfold in fact going forward we were shit.

Absolutely gutted, but let's not lose hope. We're still on a fantastic run, and we're competing in four competitions. Arsenal will drop points, an injury to one or two of their crucial players will happen at some stage and their squad depth is the worst in the top 4. Playing City twice will be tough, but I reckon they'll drop points against some lesser sides too. Still around 60 points to play for, and although a title challenge didn't form part of my vocabulary for the season (nor will it determine success this season/not), it's not over. Also, it's okay to admit AWB has done really well in his last few starts - his defensive abilities were never in doubt, and for the most part people wanted him to offer more going forward. An accurate description would be *only* in one-on-one/last ditch scenarios. Positionally, he is atrocious, and as a defender Wan-Bissaka does not anticipate danger. The attacking deficiencies can create a bit of a smokescreen for the fact he is a very one dimensional footballer.

Anyway we've already beaten Arsenal this season without Casemiro starting. We can do it again. Just hope Antony Taylor isn't a prick. Oh FFS, Antony Taylor, 100% prick incoming!!..............🤦♂️

We have made huge progress this season, and we look like an actual footballing team, the fact we have even been mentioned in a title race shows that, but as we all know the squad isn't even close to being strong enough, and last night proved that. Top four is vital for next season, once the new owners come in and actually backs the manager I think we will be even closer.

Waste of space? He has been playing injured just so the team had someone upfront. Let’s fully judge him when he is fully fit, I think he will show up better We've been saying this for years and it still hasn't happened. He just hasn't delivered near enough. Doesn't get half the shit Rashford gets aswell. Needs to hit the exit and upgrade. Martial should entering his peak years now and we are doing nobody any favours keeping hold of him. Are we holding out for one of these miracle seasons?

I like to give players the benefit of the doubt sometimes but he hasn't been in any decent form in 3 years. Not all down to him as he's suffered with injuries aswell but he's never really hit the levels we expected him to.

You've nailed your colours to the mast on AWB for ages, so I half expected this response That said, and whilst I agree he's not Roberto Carlos, he's done well since the WC and I really don't mind him as back-up as it allows us to focus on addressing other critical gaps in the squad. He's arguably better than Malacia and Dalot in one on one situations, people seem to totally forget how impenetrable he looked at times when he initially joined. A few tackles last night from behind, wrapping around and dispossessing opponents - yet to see Dalot do that even once in a defensive sense, and I'm a big fan of the latter. In fact, if I roll back and the search function on the forum actually worked, people were calling for Dalot to be sold last year, probably even moreso than AWB this time around.
