Another problem for me now is, you just can’t trust this team. They have a performance like that still in them and it can come out at the worst possible time. We could easily get splattered by City in the FA Cup Final or blasted by Juventus in the Europa. It speaks volumes to their lack of character. We need better players in the summer but we also need dogs who will scrap and fight every minute they are on the pitch.

A hammering was coming, Leicester and West Ham could and should have been 3 up in recent games, and only De Gea and poor finishing kept us in it. We were 2 down to a pile of shite like Leeds. Newcastle had clear chances in the final before we got going; it was a matter of time before someone put us to the sword.
Fucking typical it happens against this lot.

Yeah hopefully this result does burst the Glazers bubble if they were starting to think Erik was the man who could keep us relevant on a modest transfer budget. We need some massive investment over the next few seasons.
And hopefully Erik will realize now he cannot fully trust legacy players like Shaw, Fred, Dalot and Bruno. Scotty also definitely needs to go.
He also isn't infallible and he got the tactics and team selection badly wrong today. Probably out of complacency as we won 3 cup games in a row. We should have brought in Sabitzer and played three in midfield and dropped Wout and played Rashford upfront. And AWB should have started ahead of Dalot.
Also makes you realise how much of our improvements in defence are due to Casemiro. He has a rare bad day at the office and we leak 7 goals.
At the same time though Liverpool are still a very good team on their day and for the first time their front 3 really clicked and were unplayable while we didn't cause their weak defence any issues at all. What is most annoying is our lack of professionalism in not shutting up shop and keeping the score down when it was clear it wasn't our day and their attack was on fire.
It is a reality check. We are far from the complete team and far too over-reliant on Casemiro and Rashford and we still have far too many legacy players who aren't at the level required. And Erik also needs to learn from this and not get complacent and lazy with tactics and team selection.

Brentford Brighton Villa Liverpool City Arsenal Dalot/ Shaw started practically every game. Start there. To be fair Shaw has been great for us this season. Today you can just put it down to monumentally shit off day. Dalot has been turd and off his game since the World cup.

If any player says 'we go again' in their lazy social media statement, they should get a slap. Bang on the money! The warning signs have been there. Today the players gave up and that for me is unforgivable

Ah for the days when our fans had a meltdown for getting a draw at Anfield. 👀

People on here have been saying we’re in a title race and all season I’ve said we aren’t because these players can’t be trusted and today is proof of that. I’ve also seen (not on here I don’t think) people saying that we’ll definitely get top 4. Sorry, but that definitely isn’t clear cut. There are 12 games to go and we are only 7 points clear of 5th. We have a long way to go and these next few months could potentially be a fucking nightmare. Especially if these pricks let their heads drop.
I have big fears for the rest of the season. And it’s not an overreaction based on this shit show. We know what these players are like.

As good ad ETH has been, there is definitely a naivety about his approach away from home against the big teams.
The game at the etihad came after a decent run of form IIRC and even though it finished 6-3, it could’ve easily been closer to today’s score too.
It’s like we get over confident and start to believe the hype heading into these game which you can never do against this type of opposition.
We will obviously move on and if we get back to winning league titles in the next couple of years then this result - whilst always a great source of embarrassment - won’t mean a great deal in the grand scheme of things, similar to the 6-1 against City.
Until then, fuck everything and everyone.

Fucking hell. You'd think millionaires who pay big money would have PR teams who realise that fans now have realised these messages are transparent as fuck. EDIT: Actually read it now. Seems like they realise. So just don't post it.

We've done well bouncing back from the occasional setback under Erik. But I do worry about the mentality of the squad and what will happen if we do hit a rough patch of form especially as tiredness sets in over the next few months. We've had really bad slumps in form under each of the previous managers and some of the players involved are still around

Keane mentioned the whole back slapping each other thing last week as well to be fair to him.
We've had a brilliant week. Coming from behind against Barca, beating Newcastle, then coming from behind v West Ham.
Today was 11 players collectively losing their heads.
Fucking embarrassing. 7. I might pull another sickie tomorrow now

Still need to ship out some players. We can’t even blame Maguire for this afternoon either.
