Thought it was horrendous aswell that it took Varane to scream at them for some of these players to go over to the away fans at the end aswell. They should all have been over there on their knees begging for forgiveness the spineless bastards.

Couldn’t watch the game so just opened my phone occasionally to check the result.
I saw 3:0 and then 7:0 and thought there’s a bug on the app. Last time this happened to me was the City thrashing under Fergie. My mind couldn’t fathom we’d lose by so many goals that I assumed technology was at fault.
This is a soul crushing result. Ralf said not that long ago that this team requires an open heart surgery, well here’s the proof that doing only a bit of work doesn’t cut it, regardless of how good the doctor is (Ten Hag).
Bring in new owners and real ambition to make this result a distant memory.

I’d have brushed this off last season. Things were that bad that even this 7-0, I’d have thought, aye we’re shit and all these lads are wasters. But we’d really started to turn a corner. How many times have we said, it’s the hope that kills you? Also, in response to Rust who asked what everyone was doing 20 years ago. I just checked. Right now we were 1-0 up against Leeds at home via a Radebe OG (8pm Wednesday evening kickoff). Viduka would equalise, before a 79th minute Silvestre winner. I think they went on to get relegated. I missed that Leeds game. Was in hospital with my ex for the birth of our first son. Poor lad got a special 20th birthday present yesterday |

Why would a class operator like Sabitzer not start a game like that?
The sour taste is still in my mouth, I can’t forget that beating.
And to be very clear losing 3-0 or 4-0 to the Scouse is equally unacceptable. Why are people thinking it’s ok?
7-0 is just mentally damaging.

Because we’ve lost by those margins before ? 3/4-0 is an off day but there’s a sign of some effort at keeping some of our dignity on the pitch. 7 is dereliction of duty. 7 is dereliction of duty. It is an abandonment of pride and professionalism. It is a lack of care for fans who have traveled all the way there. It is nigh-irredeemable ignominy. This. It happens sometimes. They done us 4-1 at OT under Fergie. It's horrible but now and again we'll beat them by 3 or 4 goals and they'll do the same to us. Obviously it's "unacceptable" from a fans perspective but shit happens. 7-0 doesn't happen. Ever. If we were down to 9 men then at least there's an excuse, even though it'd still be bang out of order. But to lose like that? It's beyond disgusting, and if those players had an ounce of self respect they'd offer to forfeit their wages for the week, donate them to a charity. The Samaritans would be a good choice, I imagine they were ran off their feet taking calls all night. |

Fucking hell, feels like I've lived through a cataclysmic trauma.
Having looked back, it's one of those days really - we could have been 2/3 up at HT, but they somehow scratched a goal right before the break.
To then concede within the first moments of the second half put us out of it, and we were always going to be left open after that.
Some of their goals (2-3) were insanely fortunate too, deflections putting it on a plate.
On another day we take our first half chances and win that, but I don't think they were 7 goals better than us - everything just fell for them on the day, ref had a few dodgy moments too.
Anyway, I'll probably Aguerooooo this baby, and with a bit of strategic viewing will never see footage of this game again.

As much as a shitshow yesterday was any deflection seem to lead to a goal. not an excuse but it was a factor. |

I'm coming away with shock and disgust from the result but the game itself was fucking surreal. They get the ball and suddenly our players slip at the vital moment. Or one of our midfielders would intercept a pass and the ball lands right at the feet of their forwards. Possession felt even. Evenly matched on corners and whatever else you want to think of. We definitely lacked fight and pride and guts. No doubt. But they did not do enough to really deserve it. Sadly nobody will give a shit, 7-0 is 7-0. |
