Yep survived the day but it's only one! the fall out from this will be going on for a while yet, still too painful, glanced at the BBC sportsday live page and it is still full of it with all the back pages still leading with Erik's reaction etc. after seeing that i still won't look at anything on the internet apart from on here, need the next games to come quickly and for Liverpool to fuckin lose! although they have Bournemouth next so that'll be another 3 points for the wankers! I still can't believe it, there was no rhyme nor reason for that result!! |

He certainly didn't look like the player we've seen in pretty much every other game this season. |

If it was just a blip then it would be easier to move on.
But it is a lot more worrying than that. It demonstrated that the mentality still isn't right in the squad. Players still have that bad habit of not taking responsibility when things aren't going our way and start putting their head down or throwing their arms up in the air or moaning at the ref or pointing fingers at their other teammates.
So I do worry what will happen if we do hit a rough patch of form especially as tiredness sets in. Worth remembering that under each of our previous managers we had really bad slumps in form. So far under Erik we've been able to bounce back from the occasional setback. But this is another level of setback. It could be the toughest challenge we've faced so far.

Bruno has created the most chances from open play of any player in this league this season. It’s fucking stupid to say he isn’t talented or doing his job. As usual we’ve got certain characters ready to make a handful of players the scapegoat for every thing.
That being said, he isn’t a captain. He was a makeshift captain and this game proved he shouldn’t carry the armband.
That isn’t a mark on Bruno whatsoever. The best player doesn’t have to be the captain. The best leader does - and that’s Casemiro imo.

The comments above from the January interview haven't aged very well.
I didn't see much fight on display yesterday. Casemiro didn't seem right but at least for most of the season he's been a fantastic midfield general. Other players either had their heads down or were throwing their arms up into the air or just looked completely shell shocked. And our so-called captain did his usual trademark moaning and complaining to referees.
And apparently Erik is now bringing out the Dutch psychologists to try to restore confidence.

Bruno isn't doing his job at captain. And really I am a bit disappointed that Erik hasn't done a lot more to cut out all the whining and complaining that Bruno does on the pitch. It sets a very bad example and if he spent as much time talking to his teammates as he does talking to referees it would do the team a world of good.
Erik made the excuse earlier this year that Casemiro can't be captain because his English isn't good enough. But surely it has improved enough by now for him to take on that role?
Bringing Sabitzer into our midfield would be a positive to come out of the Liverpool defeat. He was Leipzig captain. Has a lot of experience and quality. And will ease some of the burden on Casemiro.
