Need some players to feign injury and avoid the international games so they rest.
Rashford, Bruno, Weghorst, Martinez.
Antony could do with not going anywhere too, same for Sabitzer, the time to rest and train would do them the world of good.

I really do like Sabitzer aswell. Not the most technically gifted player. Nothing flashy either, just keeps things nice and simple and does it so nicely. Huge upgrade on McTominay and van de Beek aswell so hope we can make his move a permanent one in the summer, even as a back up. For his asking price it's a no brainer. If we can get him for a good price then he’s a useful squad addition and it allows us to shift the likes of Mct and VDB. |

Also- people need to give credit where it is due. Antony was tremendous when he came on. Changed the whole shape of our play.

Poor game but it is what it is at this stage, the players are gassed, endless midweek games will do that to you. No moaning of course, if you want to go far in Europe then you're going to be playing a lot of midweek games and have to find a way to get through them.
Fulham only have themselves to blame, just read an actually very balanced and fair comment on The Guardian about the game from a Fulham fan, basically calling out Mitrovic and Silva as two people who've been doing this kind of behaviour all season and finally came up against a ref who wasn't accepting it and stuck by the rules of the game; and they're right. It's basically why Newcastle got shot of Mitrovic as he might be decent but he's a nutcase who will absolutely cost you at some point with his behaviour. The weirdest thing is the hill they both choose to die on, the most obvious and blatant pen and red card you'll see all season got them both sent off.
Please for Sabitzer to get his 1st goal, he's had chances but just hasn't been going in for him.

To be honest i thought he was bang average today. Obviously Im not basing it off one game, talking generally. Most were off the pace today. Do think he'd be a good back up option next season that will allow us to direct more funds elsewhere. |
