I don't understand why on the one hand I am not allowed to hold the manager to what he actually says in public but at the same time you can say 'Everyone knows he wants better players' as if it is fact. Common sense says it's true but every time ten Hag talks about the squad he talks them up. Nobody says you can't hold him to it but you need to expect him to talk up his team for the sake of this season. After all, it's all he's got until the season is over. We've tried a bombastic manager that shit over everyone in press conferences and it didn't work then and its really not likely to work now. There is a middle ground between Mourinho telling the blunt truth and ten Hag's Solskjaer-esque fluffing of shit players.

Might just be a man-management style, in fact I think it's certainly down to that.
Jose has always had a tendency to go nuclear on his players, e.g. Shaw at United.
Other managers consistently defend and praise their players, so many examples of this so it's a bit of a moot point.
When it comes to criticizing the owners when not getting the players he wanted, I'm not sure many managers would go that far in their debut season - especially someone who came from Ajax (a modest budget), who had spent a decent amount in the preceding Summer already.
Remember, he was backed to sign Martinez and Antony - both players he had to vouch for, the latter at a huge cost.

The only thing that matters is how you respond to players in terms of starts and game time. At the start of the season people on here thought he was soft on Maguire despite spending all his time on the bench. If he said anything remotely positive in press conferences, he was ole'd. Dropping him just wasn't enough.

So that’s a no on the facts then? Cool, thanks for clearing that out. Fact: Everyone says we need more players - except the manager. Fact: We haven't made more signings. Which of those of is not true? Hate to break it to you but you’re wrong on both of those fACtS.

He played the same team the next game after Anfield for example.

Hate to break it to you but you’re wrong on both of those fACtS. Which one isn't accurate? Non Fact 1 - where has he said we don't need more players? He said that he's planning for the squad next season, juat in the background, thus meaning he needs more players. Just because things aren't said in public doesnt mean theyre not being said. Non Fact 2 - It's impossible to sign players when the board don't give you the green light to do so. They didn't in January. Hence we were left with a loanee signing.

And we won 4-1 We've also had our of best centreback pairing out for weeks. None of us want him playing, the bloke is a liability, Ten Hag has dropped him for the majority of the season so I'd imagine he knows this already. But with games every couple of days he's forcing his hand to have to use him to avoid others getting injured aswell. We've not exactly got a lot of options to choose from atm.

Colossally not the point. The grand irony being - 2 pages of talk and you’re making absolutely no point whatsoever 🤣
