The saving grace tonight for qualification purposes, is that the other match in the group finished a draw, and both dropped 2 points.
However, this will be absolutely and utterly irrelevant in the grand scheme of the tournament.

He’s beyond criticism amongst most of our fan base. Bullshit. He was defended on here against ridiculous attacks about how his ghost-writing a book for charity had distracted him from football. Mostly by tories. no need to bring politics into it. I’ve been in the ground and heard fans say ‘you can’t criticise st Marcus in here’ when another group of lads were yelling at him. he’s been shit for nearly 3 years bar that purple patch last winter. that’s why he gets shit(as do other players). |

Give him his due at least he owned it. Won't see that from any of the others. Just excuses about how we should do better. Was a howler of a mistake but he's only just got here so deserves the benefit of the doubt for that one I think. Needs to learn from it though.

I have no issues with him getting criticism in here because he deserves it but there is nearly always a little extra. Last week someone suggested that he should go feed the kids in Morocco. |

Hojlund scoring his first goal and the GUY ON LOAN showing some actual fucking hustle was the only bright spots in the match. Reguilon played his heart out like his career mattered and actually looked decent.
Rashford is a sad excuse of a star for this club if he is going to play this way, head always down and sulking.

Same here. Those are 2 totally separate issues. He always has been and always will be an inconsistent player(the trouble is the shit part is around 70% and the world class part about 30% at best). hes 26 next month so I can’t see that changing and he will always be that player. |

We almost always pick the lazy bums. City, Madrid and Barca players don't have to carry their respective teams for full seasons. If one or two have a run of average games, then there's class all around them to compensate for that and carry them. With Rashford and Bruno, easily our two best players, they've been playing with bang average dross for too long which is both depressing and highlights their odd below par spell. I doubt there are many players in world football who'd provide the numbers they have over the last 4-5 seasons in this environment of mediocrity.
Oh, and by the way I'm one of Rashford's biggest fans and think he was beyond poor last night.
