There was enough in that performance for reasons to be hopeful for the future. They did the bare minimum, which hasn't always been the case, and we weren't easily bullied. But we really need more depth at 10. Bruno doesn't have the discipline to hold the position and the less said about the McTom diasasterclass, the better. If Bruno was playing with a fit on form Casemiro and Mainoo in central mid, it would be easier for him to just play where he should. I agree with what you are saying though. |

He is showing every minute on the pitch he has to be out there with either Amrabat or Cas(when back) going forward. He is level headed to not get stupid emotional YC like Hannibal does, he keeps the shape that keeps us from opening large gaps other teams walk through. Mctominay wonders far too forward the be in the role next to Amrabat/Cas/Mainoo and it leaves those guys on a island. Yes he scored goals for us but we give up goals in part to him being no where near the center of the field to help shield our back line. We already have a player that wonders around and that's Bruno, we don't need 2 of them. |

If ETH sticks with this system our defence will play much better but he still have to solve the problem in attack.
Antony is not good enough, Garnacho is better used as a sub in the last 30mins against tired legs. And neither of them give any proper service to Hojlund who gets isolated throughout the match.
Bruno and Rashford have the quality but both of them are very instinctive kind of players suitable for a more direct/counter attacking system. Neither of them can play effectively in a possession system.Have been saying this for a while , i would love to see Mount getting a run in the no.10 position instead of Bruno once he is fit.
Whatever combination ETH tries in the attack , its still not going to be good enough, but atleast he should ask his wide players to pass to his striker more.

Its shocking how this club managed to sign so many wide forwards and yet there is not a single player who is good enough to do the job now. DiMaria, Memphis, Martial,Alexis Sanchez,Daniel James,Jadon Sancho,Antony,Amad Diallo, Pellistri . And then we have Rashford and Garnacho from the academy. How many millions is that ! In hindsight that Perisic - Martial swap which Jose wanted so badly was a good idea. |

If Garnacho is going to kick on, he has to play alot at this stage of his career. He's never going to learn how to play 90 minutes unless he plays 90 minutes regularly. We just have to accept inconsistency because there's nobody other than Rashford to challenge him and I've had enough of Rashford in a utd shirt to be honest. It makes sense at this moment to develop some stability at the back and midfield and play a more counter attacking game until the day we finally fix this midfield. |

He needs to play regular, especially as there is no one else to take that spot and out perform him. Sancho is gone, Martial all but checked out, and Rashford is just a parody at this point. If he can't get regular starts in this team, how long before he wants out. Just reading Mourinho's comments on Chelsea selling Salah and De Bruyne, how they were young and wanted to play every minute. I really don't want the same thing happening with him. Garnacho should start regular on the left and Amad really deserves a good run of games on the right. I don't know if he'll be the long term answer, but no one else is doing a damn thing on that right hand side so he 100% should get a chance, and not the last 10 minutes for a few games. |

GARNACHO 15 games 1 goal 1 assist
HOJLUND 13 games 0 goals 0 assists
ANTONY 13 games 0 goals 0 assists
MARTIAL 13 games 1 goal 0 assist
Garnacho is partly excused because a lot of those appearances are as a sub. But as a collective it is an utterly appalling return.

When your 70+ mil Striker has gone 3 games without any service and is at the bottom (like actual bottom of the list of strikers in the PL with the least amount of service and Martial is right above him.) All this tells me is it would an absolute waste of money, which we've already done to the tune of 400 mil under ETH btw, buying another striker. I 100% agree with you. If we are bringing anyone in during the Jan window it needs to be players that are going to bring service to our under serviced, over priced striker that holds the ball up for everyone and works his ass off and our often injured, highly overpaid, statue of a back up. If we do it needs to be because we dumped Martial and need a replacement. |
