Considering where we are, that is a great result. Credit to ETH for the more pragmatic approach. Scouse barely threatened for all their possession and we could’ve nicked it.
Evans and Varane excellent and Mainoo continues to impress.

What we saw was a more together middle pair int he middle field so hopefully ETH opens his eyes and see it should be Mainoo/Amrabt in the center and Mctominay anywhere in the stadium except on the pitch unless replacing Bruno.

Varane not starting when fit was always a ridiculous decision, glad ETH came back to his sense. That backline instantly looked better.
2 defensive midfielders are a must, Casemiro and Mainoo will do a good job.
Scott despite his recent goals is such a limited player.

I didn’t get up for the 03.30 KO so can’t comment on the game.
Feels like a win though, stopped their record attempt, prevented them overtaking Arsenal, came away with a valuable (highly unexpected) point and upset their fans. Happy enough with that, in the circumstances!

I said to a friend last weekend that Liverpool's advantage going into the match was reduced by Bruno being suspended. I think we'd have lost by two or three with him in the side. He's incapable of positional discipline and continually concedes possession. |

Michael Oliver is a cunt Maguire, Lindelof and Martinez are all injured. It was less coming to his senses and more being forced by circumstance. Agree on Casemiro and Mainoo, I'm looking forward to seeing them together, just hope he's brave enough to keep Mainoo in and not drop him for McTominay, Eriksen or Mount. He's raw and needs to learn a lot, but the kid has ability and deserves a run in the team, not starting every game, but 4 or 5 starts from 10 games type run. |
