I read that we’ve conceded 100 shots on goal in the last five (!) games. Regardless of injuries this is on ETH. I can’t imagine Brailsford thinks he’s the man to lead any revival, let alone knock Liverpool and City off their perch.

Players just running everywhere and leaving enormous gaps all over the place. Saying that, our players are crap for the most part defensively. I lost count the amount of times Dalot or Lindelof got turned because he either was on the wrong side or too tight or nowhere near their man. Defending is an art, you can do alot tactically but the players need fundamental skills to be effective defenders. You can't set up the team, so everyone has two always on the cover, else you'd never get out of your half.

The players are definitely partly to blame but ETH has never given any indication. - either in his set up, "tactics", in-game management or in any of his comments - that he realises this is a major issue. If anything he's made things worse by spending hundreds of millions on a lot of garbage that has compounded the original problem.

I don't think I am on my own here when I say that I can't believe how shit Bruno has become... His form has fallen off a cliff... One of the first things to happen in the summer is he gets that armband removed from him, he never should have been made captain in the first place.

I don't think I am on my own here when I say that I can't believe how shit Bruno has become... His form has fallen off a cliff... It's something I've recently noticed... where he was vocal point of our attack, everything ran through him. Now I forget he is on the pitch because I am seeing it flow through Mainoo, Garnacho, Rashford, and Hojlund. I get reminded by him bitching about some insignificant infraction that happened to him. You would bet your mortgage on him banging in a open look on goal from the 18 now I question if he will get it on target..... maybe put McT in his place to give him a rest. Apart of me thinks he is just worn out as he never misses a match.

Bruno's lack of positional discipline has always been well known. IMHO one of ETH's biggest failures has been his inability to act on this, especially when he keeps banging on about becoming the best transitional team in the world etc etc. If one of the key elements of your entire "system" is indulged beyond belief the rest of the team is just going to fall apart, as when every other team just runs through our midfield. Everyone can see this except him, apparently.

Yeah exactly right. Coaches like Pep or Mourinho would happily hook a player even if he is out of position by a few metres. But Bruno is all over the place. Erik is always talking about the importance of patterns but how can you play patterns if players aren't in the right positions at the right times? And what kind of example does it set to the rest of the team as captain? Erik also indulges all the whining and complaining and moaning at referees which is embarrassing to watch. It is not a question of effort because he isn't lazy. The problem is he is just so damn emotional.
Carragher sums it up well. Bruno is a great talent but not a great player. And that is probably why he divides opinion on here so much. But especially when we are struggling he stands out and not in a good way and hurts the team. And lately his goal contributions have dropped off as well. Bruno's lack of positional discipline has always been well known. Thing with Bruno is, his 'numbers' speak for themselves in terms of chances created etc, and you all know I hate stats and prefer to watch football with my eyes, if we sold him, and I'm not saying we shouldn't who in the current squad would provide that creative spark as well as danger from deep with his ability to score from outside the area?

I agree. He’s created a shit load of chances every year he’s been here and has been let down by dreadful finishing. A surprise though is his lack of connection with Rasmus. He should be the ideal foil for Bruno but it hasn’t happened yet.
