It’s getting to be almost impossible to defend this now. The baseline for performance of this team is barely that of a mid-table side and that comes down to a combination of some top players not being arsed and a side that looks like they have never met each other prior to kickoff. If it hadn’t been for the form of the young players we’d be around 10th.
I wouldn’t be suprised if he gets canned in the summer. There is talent in the team but it’s underperforming at an alarming rate.

I know stats aren't the be all and end all of anything, but this is simply stunning from Opta: "Brentford had 85 touches in the Manchester United box tonight - the most by a team in any Premier League match across the last three seasons." You'd have to say ETH and his coaching ataff have no idea what they're doing. x.com/OptaAnalyst/status/1774198054242951635?s=20

You don't need to look at many stats other than our goal difference to work out how appalling we are most of the time.

It’s survival football and has been for a while. Signed 3 midfielders yet starts Mctominay because he pops up with a goal or two. Yet he’s rumoured to be getting a new contract from the new goons., How on earth are we ever going to get back to being a serious threat with such amateur thinking. 😡

A back 5 of the following wouldn’t be able to keep clean sheets facing that and 26 shots a game. The Dane Irwin, Rio, Stam, Evra The midfield bar Mainoo ( who looks tired) is a shambles and has zero control.

ETH has clearly given up on having any kind of system or tactics, so he guarantees a starting place for a player who constantly stinks out the midfield and renders us completely shit for 90 plus minutes, in the hope that Scotty will at some point run blindly through the field and hammer in a goal when all else has turned to shit.

Onana gets some flack and rightly so, some of his errors have been bad, but fuck me what help is he getting if we are conceding 26 shots in a fucking game, at this point the only option I would go for would be naglesman and a full backroom and boardroom change, but that only works with the clear out of these players first, the horror scenario is Southgate and the England backroom which seems to be picking up steam, that will set us back another 5 years imo.

Southgate would last 12 months if that . A coward of a manager, worse than Moyes who had a better although ageing squad at his disposal. Club and ownership deserve everything that’s coming if they go down that road.

Problem is the options SJR seems to be considering are very uninspiring e.g. Southgate, Potter. I'd be happy to throw the dice on someone like Nagelsmann or Amorim.
Erik has made it clear that he wants us controlling games, dominating possession, playing from the back and pressing from the front. It is a great pitch.
But we simply aren't doing it and even when we win we rarely look like the better team regardless of the opposition. Last season we relied on Rashford to paper over the cracks. This season it is usually Scotty!

McT as a midfielder just sums up everything about the team and the manager.
Honestly have no idea what kind of football ETH is attempting to play. Truth is once Casemiro's form declined and Rashford's streak ended he has looked mostly clueless.

ETH just talks shit the vast majority of times and doesn't realise we have eyes and can see the team is playing poorly.

Mctominay should be a bench option, played higher up the pitch when he is used, nothing else, he definitely shouldn't be starting games. Granted he's scored some important goals so I'll give him credit for that but take those away and the lad offers absolutely nothing in midfield.

Rashford was having one of his good seasons and Casemiro was a beast. Once the home form stopped carrying us the cart collapsed.

what an embarrassing display yesterday...holy fuck.
We can't control the game in the second half and he leaves McT on....why.
The excuse City was lucky to win their match against Brentford is very piss poor response for why we looked like shit.

Ten Hag is finished, there’s absolutely no reason at this stage to keep him. 1-1 but could’ve easily been 5 or 6 nil. It was an absolute pathetic and shambolic display.
Contrast that with De Zerbi and Brighton. Yes they lost at anfield today, but some of their build up play was absolutely fantastic. The fact De Zerbi can implement his style of play even with injuries is an indictment of ten Hag who has far more resources available to him. IMO, we should be targeting De Zerbi in a new set up with Ashworth and co.
