what an embarrassing display yesterday...holy fuck. We can't control the game in the second half and he leaves McT on....why. The excuse City was lucky to win their match against Brentford is very piss poor response for why we looked like shit. Its getting embarrassing now , didnt he also say something like 'our plan went really well' after losing to city last time ? Reminded me of the Anton Chigurh quote from No country for old men - "If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule?"

Ten Hag is finished, there’s absolutely no reason at this stage to keep him. 1-1 but could’ve easily been 5 or 6 nil. It was an absolute pathetic and shambolic display. Contrast that with De Zerbi and Brighton. Yes they lost at anfield today, but some of their build up play was absolutely fantastic. The fact De Zerbi can implement his style of play even with injuries is an indictment of ten Hag who has far more resources available to him. IMO, we should be targeting De Zerbi in a new set up with Ashworth and co. I wouldn’t have him either, agree with the rest though.

I've thought for a long while that I want to see what he can do with the right support and set up. But no more. Every single team we play, no matter how shit they are, creates at least 10 scoreable chances, every game. I get injuries haven't helped, but it's not like no one else gets injuries. The football is beyond dire. No one seems to have a clue what they are doing. His selections are disgraceful. I actively hate watching United now, all it does is ruin my day. Wins aren't fun, they are horrific grinds and 90% of the time thoroughly undeserved. I'm done with him now.

We’re basically Big Ron’s Utd. A brilliant cup win against a superior team immediately followed by a stinker against a side we should beat.
But not as much fun.

Lol yea he did, while I get why he said that against City because by all predictions City should have absolutely rolled us and they didn't start until the 56th minute when Foden scored.. we frustrated them up to that point. Him using a lame excuse against 15th place Brentford makes no sense and only makes him look stupid.... we should have not have been out shot 31 to 11 they have 34 touches in our own box and I don't really know how we had more possession them because it seems like the always had the ball in the second half.

Absolutely remarkable considering we are giving up like 50 shots a game too.

You just need to look at the Premier League table to figure out that Erik's excuses about injuries are a smokescreen.
We've conceded 40 goals this season. Only Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal have conceded fewer goals. And even that figure is inflated a bit by early season bloopers from Onana as he struggled to settle into the Premier League. And achieved in spite of all the defensive injuries and a porous midfield. And Onana does deserve a lot of credit for the way he has improved this season as no keeper for a big club should be getting as much action as he's been getting this season.
But we've only scored 40 goals this season. That places us midtable. And even Villa and Tottenham with their limited financial resources have scored over 20 goals more than us this season. Outside of defence our injuries have been no worse than any other big club with Mount the only long term absentee.
Erik makes a bit thing about how we aren't Ajax and therefore need to play direct because we have the players for that. But it isn't working.

the massive mistakes he has made in the first half of the season mainly in crucial CL matches have overshadowed a lot good he has done. He has really bared the brunt like a man and come alive in the last couple months.

The goal difference is on an average of 5 over the last 3 seasons, which beggars belief for Manchester United. It was 46.6 in Fergie's last 3 years. This year City are currently on +35 and Liverpool are top with +40.
Our forwards are either too inexperienced and not good enough at finishing. They can't maintain the so called press and aren't a good fit together and I don't believe Garnacho and Hojlund are quite ready for CL/PL real challenge, although both are very talented. Rashford needs to be moved on and replaced by a more creative winger but it's unlikely. We should be going for Osihmen and forcing PSG to move for Rashford, but it won't happen.
We should be pushing the boat out to spend on a world class striker and a creative central midfielder still in their prime. It doesn't take a genius or a whole new team of football directors. The rest like full backs and defenders and DM etc that's where the scouting and good coaching comes in. We've been massively over spending on wingers and overpriced defenders for years.

Goals scored is the problem. We are on course for a 3rd consecutive season in which we've scored less than 60 Premier League goals.
Last season was seen as being a success. But we only managed one more goal than the previous season with the difference being defensive improvements because Casemiro joined and Varane and Martinez replaced Maguire and Lindelof as our preferred centre back pairing.
Erik's shift from a 4-2-3-1 to a 4-3-3 hasn't worked. It has diminished the goals output of Bruno. We aren't creating enough chances to feed a target man and both Wout and Hojlund endured long goal droughts as a result and even Ronaldo couldn't score under Erik. Antony was a ridiculous signing when we knew we needed a forward to replace Ronaldo's goals as everyone knew he was on the way out and for the £85m spent we could have done so much better. Zero Premier League goals and assists is laughably bad and illustrated how little end product he has. Rashford isn't someone you can rely on and he has reverted to type. Garnacho is improving all the time and his stats this season are comparable with Bruno and Rashford despite getting far fewer minutes and I think he was a major factor in Hojlund's purple patch before he got injured.
But we also lack the depth. The last time we cleared 70 Premier League goals was Ole's last full season. Then we had Greenwood and Cavani knocking the goals in when the goals started to dry up for Rashford and Bruno.

Then we had Greenwood and Cavani knocking the goals in when the goals started to dry up for Rashford and Bruno. I think that's true regarding Bruno. He shouldn't be running around like that constantly tracking back to cover defensive duties and he doesn't have the skill set to receive the ball and beat players like Mainoo or that type of player. He gets through an incredible workload and has barely missed a game in a squad that has consistent injuries. The problem is he shouldn't be doing all that and should be focused as a 10.
