Sad to see Portugal so terrified to accept the reality that Ronaldo is long, long past his best and should be no where near the team.
No doubt his ego will force him to continue on to the next world cup and whichever manager is there won't have the balls to accept reality so will just keep rolling him out to hamper the team and cost them games.

France haven’t even scored a proper goal of their own and they’re in the semi’s. Had Portugal gone through, they would’ve done so without having scored a goal for the prior three games. And that’s supposed to be the strong side of the draw.
Spain are a good laugh, they’re the pick of the bunch, but player for player you wouldn’t call that a vintage side either.
England are fucking rotten, but at least they’ve mustered a couple of goals. Fuck me.

Defenders used to pass it into midfield from a goal kick but you'll regularly see them play Russian roulette in the penalty box now. Every team does this, even the crap ones. Modern coaches have created a generation of players who can't think for themselves or play in multiple positions. It's a generation of specialists and the levels of performance at this tournament highlights that. |
