We really need a strong start to the season. You can bet that if we are outside top 4 around Christmas time INEOS will decide to do a mid-season review and this time round they can interview Southgate and if Tuchel/Pochettino haven't found alternative employment by then they will also be in the mix.
Problem is that a huge factor will be how much of the first team we have fit and available to start the season and how well INEOS do in the summer transfer window. If our medical team continue to mismanage injuries and INEOS buy cheap but mediocre players on our limited players then last season will repeat and Erik will get the blame.

Win against Liverpool in the first month of the season will be a proper confidence building block for the team.
