I wouldn't take his words in a post match interview too seriously. He said the same middle ground stuff last season but at the end of that he admitted we were shit on sky after the final.
I don't think he's deluded, I'm sure he's livid with what that was today. We are a side with not an ounce of confidence. We started well but as soon as that off side goal went in, the whole game changed. Even though it was rightly chopped off but you could see there was already doubt.
ETH will cause his own downfall. He is too rigid. He needs to find a plan b otherwise he's gone. He's got a player in Bruno who will constantly lose the ball in midfield so he needs to back that up with players who don't and here we got Casemiro who is trying to pull off crazy passes in front of his back four.
If you search my posts when we signed him. I knew he was going to be a 1 season wonder and a waste of $$. 30 years when we signed him, clearly passed it. Hopefully that's his last game for us now.

Excellent link, thank you. Apart from exposing ETH’s tactical naivety, his incisiveness is quite the contrast to Erik’s delusional ramblings

Won’t be the last time this season ETH will count his two trophies to try and deflect justified criticism.

Just the way lost it, it is so hard to take. The hardest is there was no fight in the team

Had to go to the ER right before the match due to some fairly odd symptoms but managed to watch most of it while getting checked out. After going to down 2-0 I asked the doc if I could stay because I'm pretty sure they going to put me back in here after the second half.... I am fine thankfully and back home.
Casemiro looked worse than abysmal today, had 2 decent matches before and then whatever this was... we should be on the phone to the Saudi clubs before their window closes and a follow up call to Rabiot's mom. Ugarte can't do it all himself and will need help, but Cas isn't that guy to help.

Nah, winning trophies is what football is all about. Resting on past glories is not for clubs like this.

I'd give him till end of Oct and if no improvement then he has to go. By then De Ligt and Ugarte will be settled in, and Shaw and Hojlund will be back and playing. He can have no excuses by then, get results, and get under performing players (Rashford) out the team. If we're seeing the same old same old he has to go, no other "big" club in Europe would have given him even this long.
Just please, please, fucking please don't get Southgate.

Next 2 months he has home games against Barnsley, Twente, Spurs, and Brentford, and trips to Southampton, Palace, Porto, Villa, Fenerbahce, and West Ham. That needs to be 4 wins out of 4 at OT, and at a bare minimum 3 wins on the road with a couple of draws. Minimum.

He’s not Harry Potter. Hell he’s not even Graham Potter.
We really missed a trick not getting Poch in the summer. He got that joke of a Chelsea squad almost looking like a team by end of the season so imagine what he could do with our lot.
Erik is just pathetic really. Banging on about his 2 trophies and asking for more time when he’s already had two seasons and taken us backwards.
Good thing is that INEOS we’re close to sacking him in the summer so won’t need much further evidence to pull the trigger especially if Erik can’t get a tune out of the new signings INEOS purchased for him
