Phew. Take the win. 74% possession. Been a while since we got those numbers I’m sure. Maz brill again along with Ugarte. Too wasteful as always.

Should have won that by a good 2 or 3. Good to see a coach being able to switch it up a bit with the right changes (most anyway) when needed. Can see what he wants from his players already. Hope it all falls into place.
Thought Hojlund and Maz were brilliant tonight.

My brother who doesn’t like football, has been watching us regularly as he’s with a girl who’s a big fan. He’s said he’s seen more positives in the last two games than he has all season. I’ll take that all day.

He'll not get the plaudits because playing for an under performing team and doesn't suit the "everything about United is shit" narrative, but Maz has been one of the signings of the summer. Looks top class every time he's on the pitch.
Also really don't get the abuse Hojlund gets. Not on here but elsewhere (RedCafe in particular) just endless talk about how crap he is, waste of money, never good enough. That's 20 goals in 57 games now. He's 21, been injured, playing in an awful team, with next to no service. He's obviously got a lot to learn and far from the finished article but if people can't see the potential then there's no hope for them. If you swapped him for Haaland I honestly reckon they'd score similar numbers of goals; he'd be hitting 30 in City's team and Haaland would drop to about 30 in this side.

I’m right there with you, man. He needs some work finishing and on hos runs but the kid buries shots you wouldn’t think. You see it when he actually gets proper service. Works his ass off too…. Garnacho’s goal had everything to do because of his aggression

Cut throat at opposing fans Apparently it was a ode to Gladiator 2

Cut throat at opposing fans Apparently it was a ode to Gladiator 2 Probably, it was in front of our fans. He’s definitely a planned celebration type character.

Passing has improved so much already. Playing into people with purpose, knowing where people are, knowing what patterns they want to implement.
It’s positive signs and there’s some good players in the team.
Garnacho frustrating but doesn’t stop working hard and getting into the right positions. The finishing will come eventually.
Happy for Hojlund I like him as a player and hope he can stay fit and get going again. His comments were interesting after the game saying how much he likes this formation and it suits him.
Thought Bodo were pretty good too didn’t stop all night.
Really entertaining game.

These midweek European games finish so late, have needed to settle for extended HLs.
Their equalizer was some finish, Malacia totally skinned for their second goal.
I honestly thought he was/used to be rapid?
Mount starting to show signs of life.
Hojlund looked offside for our 3rd, or what am I missing?

I was surprised Malacia started, having played half a U21 match in what, 18 months? He needs more time and hopefully he’ll then contribute more positively.

Since joining Manchester United, Rasmus Højlund has scored as many non-penalty goals in Europe as Erling Haaland (8).
