Once a few more years pass there is no doubt he will be in most best ever teams, not just united ones. For now though, he narrowly misses out to some absolute legends.

GK - Peter Schmeichel LB - Dennis Irwin CB - Steve Bruce CB - Ronny Johnsen RB - Gary Neville LM - Ryan Giggs CM - Paul Scholes CM - Roy Keane RM - David Beckham CF - Eric Cantona CF - Wayne Rooney Subs Edwin Van Der Sar Andrei Kanchelskis Gary Pallister David May Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Well I had to do Man Utd's Best Eleven from the past 11 or 12 years because i'm not that old haha. And it'd be wrong for me to judge from previously because I haven't seen enough footage to know, it'd just be words from other people who i'd go off... Like Best, Charlton, Law, Whiteside etc.

One variation: All timeXI Schmeical, Irwin, Edwards, Bruce, Byrne, Charlton, Robson, Keane, Best, Cantona, Law. Subs: Stepney, Neville G, Stam, Giggs, Ince, Van Nistelrooy, Rooney. Best ever Premership XI Schmeical, Neville G, Stam, Bruce, Irwin, Beckham, Keane, Scholes, Giggs, Cantona, Van Nistelrooy. Struggling to get Rooney in this team which shows the quality. Cantona was simply the king and you can't ignore 150 goals in 5 years for Ruud, even though its coincided with a downturn in our fortunes these past few years. Could play Rooney as an atatcking midfielder but then you'd have to break up to be what I'd consider to have been one of the greatest ever midfields the world has seen. Beckham's crossing and deadball ability, Keano's drive, determination and leadership, Scholesy's goalscoring ability and the dribbling and running skills of Giggs. They offered the perfect balance and just highlights the mess our midfield has become today.

Without doubt, IN THEIR TIME, players like Byrne, Edwards and Taylor were fantastic. But being brutally honest, they wouldn't live with todays pace and skill levels. So sorry, you can't mix and match and anyway, Edwards hardly ever played Centre Half - he was a better version of Keane. If you work on those that were outstanding in their own era, players like Best and Cantona, Charlton and Schmeichal, Beckham (for about 3 years) are probably must haves except that I have to play 4 -2 - 4. Law too. Best CH was Foulkes. Few surprises. Gary Neville is definitely one of the best full backs of any era. But not Giggs or Scholes. Best defensive and most underrated defensive midfielder was Mo Setters. He walked like he'd just got off a horse but could kick like Bremner and Storey,
So
Schmike
Neville Bruce Foulkes Byrne
Edwards Setters
Best Cantona Law Charlton
Now I really am showing my age cos I've seen em all

giggsy
King Eric of Mancunia
a.cole
subs:
becks ruud rooney rio barthez ince w.brown
i only picked players that i have seen wearing the red of utd....which is why best, law, charlton, whiteside and robson (never saw him at his best) have been left out....i picked a team that would play well..cantona and rooney would get in each others way...while cole would add to the pase of giggs and kan kan to absolutelly terrify teams.....pally and jaap at the back would outmuscle any attacker and kick them to shreds....while keane and scholes would b the engine....wes brown is on the bench coz i rate him highly...and he has the versatility....
