Seems our kids are on the decline. Quadruple winners last year...only treble winners this I think it's great that our kids have such a taste for success, and hopefully that'll be instilled in them for when they're playing with the big boys...Pique, Rossi, Jones etc. should be trying to break in to our team next year, and maybe this latest season will help get them for it. Well done lads! #rock#

We need to start seeing some of them coming through now. They'll be on the pre-season tour which will be good, and hopefully along with some quality signings a few of them will prove to be of first team quality next season.

Theres a big difference in the league now compared to when the likes of Becks, Scholes, Nevilles, Butt etc. were coming through. We were always favourites for the league, or at the least, in the top two, and so could afford the time it took to bring through younger inexperienced players.
The difference is Chelsea of course. Without them, we'd be looking good for winning the league this season...and that's with Richardson, O'Shea, Fletcher, Bardsley, Pique, Rossi all getting some Premiership games for us. But these days, we cant afford to drop the points we have through the introduction of inexperienced players. We used to be able to.
I'd like to see them prove themselves though. Before this group, in the past 5 years or more the only players who have looked half decent from the youth team are O'Shea and Brown. We need to be doing a lot better than that now, as we can no longer compete with Chelsea for the big names...we've already lost out on Essien, Ballack, (Mikel) so we need to be bringing quality from the youth teams again.
