This boy is the subject of torrent abuse from the vast majority of the manchester united supporters on all the forums, whether it's fair or not is debatable...On thursday night i watched young fletcher play in the reserve side against tottenham in the play off north against south..The word "hospital ball" was used on three occasions by the commentator for three of his passes and this is one of his major problems..He seems to have lost the inability to pass the football..I remember some years ago when he was 15-16.,the excitement about him was great and ferguson was always saying he was one to watch..
I know he has had his injuries which can't have helped but do the people on this forum think he will ever be a top player...My problem is he always looks like he is controlling a hot coal than a football...Next year is a big year for the boy and i hope he comes good..

I think he needs to bulk up. Well, come on, actually I just think he should fuck off. But if he is to stay, he needs to stop being such a skinny runt. That's not going to get him anywhere in the centre of our midfield.
However, I think some players have it at 15-16...and then they grow up and they dont anymore. He's been given far more than his fair share of chances, and I dont want to get in to the Fletcher debate really, but he's never been amazing has he (I dont think he's ever even been good, but I know there are a small minority somewhere who disagree) and so I dont think there's any reason to keep him on board, based on how good he used to be when he was a kid.

Or be kept on just because it shows the acadmedy is flourishing...

I think he needs to bulk up. Well, come on, actually I just think he should fuck off. Iv been saying this for ages now... He just doesnt have the quality to be a United first team regular. At 15-16 people said I was good when I captained my local Sunday League side but that doesnt mean you are destined to be a Premiership star.. He'l be a triffic squad player for the bottom half of the league or the Championship. But never United. Get rid, and bring in some quality I say. ;D

Fletcher doesn’t deserve his own thread. The boy simply isn’t good enough for us. We need top, top quality to be competing with the likes of Chelsea now. So we can’t ‘wait’ until he becomes a top player (and I certainly don’t think he will be) as we don’t have time. Loan him out or something for a few seasons, though personally I’d get rid.

He isn't good enough to hold down a regular place in the starting 11. He's useful as a back up for when a main player is injured or needs resting, Fletcher can go out there and prove himself. But week in week out he's just not good enough.

Have to agree with what's already been said. I don't think he has the quality to be a Man Utd player...fullstop.
The amount of times he either has a bad first touch or loses control of the ball is annoying.
I think Keane hit the nail on the head, when he said that he couldn't understand why people in Scotland were raving about him.

It made me cringe every time a commentator mentioned anything positive about him (from their perspective) ‘’ Oh he’s a great talent ‘’ ‘’ Will soon be a continual first team regular ‘’ ‘’ He will no doubt go down as a united great ‘’. . . all of which are complete bollocks. (Excuse my language)
I feel sickened at the fact he ever got the opportunity to put on a united shirt. Although he scored the goal to beat Chelsea (like it was meant) so I have to give him that.

I think Keane hit the nail on the head, when he said that he couldn't understand why people in Scotland were raving about him. me too. he's to lightweight and he's had numerous chances to impress if he was going to, but he hasnt. we need top quality next season. since our major injuries this season our midfield has been non exsistant, lets get some quality.

This thread deserves to be locked. Ha. Nobody likes Fletcher and if they do, then they’re lying. Bye Darren, bye.
