From Sky Sports:
Ruud van Nistelrooy is expected to link up with the Holland squad, rather than appear in Roy Keane's testimonial on Tuesday night.
The Manchester United striker stormed out of the club on Sunday after learning he would be dropped for the game against Charlton Athletic.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson then revealed after the 4-0 victory that incidents in training over the past week had caused van Nistelrooy to have an unsettling effect on team spirit.
Van Nistelrooy's future at Old Trafford is due to be discussed over the coming days, with rumours suggesting he has played his last competitive game for The Red Devils.
He is also unlikely to have the chance to say farewell to the United faithful as he is not expected to figure in Tuesday's meeting with Celtic, which is ex-Red Devils captain Keane's testimonial.
Instead, van Nistelrooy is believed to be returning to Holland to take part in a training camp ahead of the World Cup finals.
Dutch coach Marco van Basten is putting members of his squad through their paces in Noordwijk this week and van Nistelrooy is expected to attend.
Van Nistelrooy will train alongside 17 of his international colleagues as van Basten fine-tunes his preparations for the finals in Germany in next month.

On tuesday Ferguson is meeting Gill to talk about his future. Basically, get rid of him. So you wouldn't want to play in a testimonial that same night, would you?

Thing is, with all this going on, we wont get half of what we should get for him. He'll go on the cheap now. If he is to leave, which it looks like he is, I'd prefer it to be as a part exchange deal for someone fuckin amazing!

I was all for getting rid of ruud all along..."what about his 20 goals i was told"..Who will replace that....Darren bent has 18 goals....We'll replace him alright..However i do not think he became a bad player over night...He was always slightly lazy but i think he got more and more frustrated by united lack of creating chances for him (tap ins a la beckham)and went into a sort of lethargic mode he could not get our of...

Revert back to our original 4-4-2, get some quality crossers in, or teach our wingers to cross the ball correctly and we’ll be destroying teams as if it was the 90’s again! !

If I was Ruud, I’d play. I’d play my heart out to show everyone I didn’t want to go and am determined, tell myself to wake up, I’m at united, players get dropped, that’s how it goes. Lose a few pounds, find the passion he once had and give it another shot. I wouldn’t just leave it and not try.
But I’m not him am I.

i dont know whether ruud not playing is because he didnt want to or was told that he couldnt - depends which paper you read.
but since it looks like he is gonna leave i wouldnt want him at keane's testimonial because it is the fans chance to say goodbye to keane, not rvn - and if he was there it would certainly seem like it was a chance to say goodbye to both of them and that would be a smack in the face to keane who wasnt sure he even wanted the testimonial in the first place but thought he owed it to the fans.
