From MEN:
LIVERPOOL will lose a large chunk of their FA Cup semi-final windfall to pay for damage caused by their rampaging fans at Old Trafford.
The FA have so far refused to say how of much of the £3million gate will be withheld to pay for the wrecking spree in last weekend's showpiece game against Chelsea.
Old Trafford insiders say it will cost about £50,000 for the repairs after Liverpool yobs smashed up toilets and seats and scrawled obscenities on the walls. Advertisement your story continues below
However, an FA spokesman refused to confirm the details.
"A decision has not been reached yet," he said.
"Our position that we have maintained is that the cost for the damage to Old Trafford will come out of the gate receipts.
Compensation
"When the FA hosts matches like the semi-final, the clubs take the revenue from the game after the costs have been deducted."
United confirmed that they are awaiting compensation from the FA. "It's for the FA to sort out what they want to do. The stadium will be repaired and that's the end of the matter as far as we're concerned.
"We don't want to inflame the situation," said a spokesman.
"We expected a bit of damage because it's a high-profile game but it should all be ready again for the Middlesbrough game on Monday."
