Germany captain Michael Ballack has admitted he chose Chelsea over a move to Manchester United.
The inspirational Bayern Munich star will officially join the Premiership champions on July 5 after signing a three-year deal at Stamford Bridge.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to have made his first move for Ballack last year as The Red Devils looked to strengthen their midfield and replace Roy Keane.
However, the 29-year-old decided that he was better suited by a transfer to West London.
"Manchester United came in quite early for me," declared Ballack on Sky Sports News. "But really I saw the possibilities of Chelsea being much greater.
"They are a stronger team and also London has its attractions, particularly as a family man, I have got my family.
"In the final analysis, Chelsea's aims for the coming years attracted me."
The ex-Bayer Leverkusen star has signed a lucrative contract with Chelsea after taking advantage of his Bosman free status.
Wanker!

i like it when players turn down united cos they always always lose out. alan shearer, patrick kluivert, michael owen to name a few all have seen their carreers go downhill, shearer has won fuck all in 10 years at newcastle, kluivert is a newcastle reject, owen is playing for newcastle. theres a bit of a patern emerging here, how long before ballack is flopping for newcastle do we think lol

Re Ballack Snub:
"I chose chelsea over utd as they are a stronger team"...........lets all remember that in 12 months....when he's having a fit at being dropped or subbed off..........obviously they have more places to spend ya moola but all he's done is taken the bigger pay day & said balls to his football..........if they dont want to come to Utd.....they don't deserve to come.....nuff said. Funny really .......I reckon Roman misunderstood some basic things- unlike most of us who grew up with Panini football stickers- he simply buys the players in the album & sticks em in the team bus!.........as the old footy proverb goes: "too many egos spoil the club"....lets watch that space....& get our title back home!

Ballack, what a prick!..I don't think he will be able to play as good as he has for Munich for Chelsea. Their style of play means that he isn't the central focus of everything they do. Look at what has happened to Essien. Chelsea's Central Midfielders: Essien, Lampard, Makelele, Ballack, Obi Mikel. Therefore, atleast 2 of them will become frustrated at the lack of football and want to leave.

We didn't want him anyway I reckon, we were just testing to see if we said we want a player would Chel$ki jump up and say 'Us too, only we'll pay u 80 times as much as they were going to'. It's part of our plan to make them signed 8 over-priced players for each position, thus destroying them from within...mwhahahahaha!
Next up Roberto Carlos.
