Bolton To Sign Fortune

QUINTON Fortune looks set to become a Bolton Wanderers player by the end of the week. The South African, who can perform anywhere down the left or in central midfield, would be the first of six possible new faces at the Reebok this summer as boss Sam Allardyce attempts to rebuild his squad after the disappointment of not qualifying for Europe.

Fortune, 28, is available on a Bosman transfer after being told he is free to leave Manchester United by Sir Alex Ferguson and Bolton, who have also been linked with another former Red, Nicky Butt, look to be in pole position to land the South African international. Fortune has made 126 appearances for United, scoring 15 goals, since arriving from Atletico Madrid back in August 1999.

If that's the case, I'd like to say thank you to Quinton and good luck in the future. He has been a great servant to United, never one to cause arguments or sulk, and from what other players say he was the 'joker' in the dressing room. Injury for me restricted his United career, and at 28-years old he's still got a few years ahead of him, hopefully he won't suffer anymore serious injuries and enjoy the rest of his career.

I still say if he was 6ft tall he'd be the ideal replacement for Keano. The lad is hard as nails! Anyone got a green house and some compost?

Fortune has done brilliantly for United - Good luck in the future - i don't see too much point in him staying at United if he wants to play football to be honest.

Good luck to quinton, he's had a lot of bad luck throughout his career and deserves and injury free spell in a first team. ;D
