silly? more like fucking outrageous #furious# Wes is the ultimate second centre half in any team. Before the arrival of Vidic who is very much in the mould of Wes, Rio has always looked shakey at the back, except when partnered with Wes. The way he compliments Rio's game works a dream. We all know terry is carrrying a minor injury also, so Wes would seem the ideal candidate to deputise having played alongside Rio n all. But no once again Erikssons stupidity provails - it seems there are no limits to this mans lunacy. But then what do we expect from a manager who persists with the theory; I must have one shite scouser up front.

I agree, it's strange that Sven didn't pick him for the English squad.

He's been better than Campbell, Bridge, Young & Dawson this season. It's utter rubbish atleast, we can safely say Steve McClaren will select him!

Bloody hell, that's wrong, Wes should have been one of the first defenders picked.

Wesley was my player of the year behind Rooney this year! i think as much as he should be in the england team, the time off will be good for him and come the start of the new season he'll be ready to go !

Sven goes if he wins the world cup, he goes it he loses the world cup and everyone seems to rate him as a manager still so....where's the incentive to win.

You'd just think that ANY manager would want to win the World Cup. Cant for the life of me understand why he doesnt give a shit!
Sol, Dawson and Young should never have been picked above Wes.

Well Dawson I could kinda understand, but the other two? Campbell has looked poor and he has had all those problems and Young has been ok I guess but at least Dawson has had good campaign

I've always hated the tit and never rated him. He was the one who corrupted Beckham - giving him the captaincy was a stupid move, Thats were it all started with Beckhams acting like a nonce thinking he could play in the middle and caring more about England than United. ( i know Peter taylor gave him captaincy first but it was only for one or two games )

I feel sorry for Wes, totally deserves to be in the standby list at the very least. Ah well, it's good for united I guess, he will be fresh and eager for the start of the new season.

Wes Brown has been absolutely brilliant for United for a majority of his matches this season, and so any decent manager would have chosen him for the World Cup Squad. However, we should hardly have been surprised at some of Sven's rather peculiar decisions, considering this is the same person who decided to bring a kid who's not even played a Premiership match. I know he's leaving after the world cup, but you would have thought he would be interested in keeping some of his integrity, or if not that, at least get a decent squad together to put up a performance that will impress whichever part time celebrity bird he wants to shag next.

There is nop doubting svens inability as an england manager, hargreaves, walcott, crouch just to name a few. personally i think he's jus doing it cus of the way he got sacked after the world cup and the fact that sweden are in our group. FA should have used the opportunity to have sacked before the world cup, appointed an enthusiastic manager so that we would have had a chance to win the world cup., pearce or allardyce would have got my vote, not mclaren he was the worst choice out of all the possible candidates, cheers FA now we are in for another 4 years of boring england, are they ever going to appoint a decent manager???

Controvertial - but true. Allardyce however just wouldn't wash with FA bigwigs - thats why they went with the easy way out - knowing they could manipulate MacClaren if they feel the need.
