Now I’d like a little information please, you die hard reds.
As we all know King Eric rocked our world, his sheer brilliance brought tears to our eyes, but there was a beast inside him to say the least.
Now I wasn’t present of the attack in 1995 and to be honest, I haven’t seen the incident so I don’t know what happened to the full extent. I’ve read up on it, but all’s I’m aware of is he ‘kung-fu’ styled a fan, after the fan allegedly chanted racial insults towards him?
Can anyone here elaborate on the subject a little? Anyone here present when it happened?
Shed a little light. And what did you think of his actions, were his punishments enough?

I remember listening to the game on the radio and then goin over to News at Ten to see the pictures, remember liek it was yesterday.
Was he right to do as he did?
As a Manchester United fan I would say yes, If he had done it to a United fan when @ Leeds I would have called for his head.
Some clown shouted the preverbials at him about being French and to fcuk off home after he was sent off (The usual), for a challenge deemed worthy of a red card.
He was punished for he did and rightly so, the good thing to come from it all was his punishment was to teach kids from the Manchester area about footy and that was something Eric saw as a pleasure rather then a punishment.
Once again ERIC was the winner, LONG LIVE THE KING #worship#

Saw the clip on the highlights too, the person shouting abuse at him was in the front row of a stand behind the goal he was sent off by, he heard this fan shouting abuse and so walked over to them and did a straight kung foo kick! Then left the pitch with a little help from his team mates and officials

And who will ever forget the great Nike adverts "66 was a great year for English football, Eric was born" Used to send shivers down me back when I saw those advertising hoardings with the Big man on them

We actually drew 2 -2 in his return game against the dippers.
Eric set up Nicky Butt after 2 mins to give us the lead, but unfortunately Fowler wasn't on the smack the night before and scored two belters to give them the lead in the second half.
However, Eric was to have the last laugh scoring a pen around the 70th min to earn us a draw. It was the start of most miraculous return for the french genious. He went on to score several crucial goals in many a 1-0 win that season and was the catalyst to a second double in three years, capping it with an amazing strike in the cup final against the socusers and being voted PFA and premiership player of the year.
Not only did he kung-fu-kick the tosser, he gave him a cracking right hook for good measure before being dragged away.
I remember a second cracking ad at the time in which the whole incident was made satirical. Went somethin like;
" I know have made mistakes, last year I put shot 3inch wide of post and against *forget team* I fail to complete a hat-trick. - I know this is not acceptible and I will not bahave like this again. Thank-you."
